you downloaded propably the .sha256 file - it is only verification key. You have to download bigger file about 100MB

Hope the KZbin algorithm does not delete this comment. This video does not install the latest version of GCC. I can tell you how. If you are here looking for to install GCC and then ran with problems like "WHERE IS THE .EXE FILE TO INSTALL??": Guys, there is a much more easier way to install GCC. Just install MSYS2, start MSYS2 MSYS, run the commands: pacman -Syu > (< dont enter this ">" symbol, just pacman -Syu is enough) then enter. Read what the console says. pacman -S mingw-w64-x86_64-gcc to install the 64bit Version Optional: pacman -S mingw-w64-i686-gcc for the 32 bit version Don't close the terminal yet. If for whatever reason after executing pacman -Syu the terminal closes itself, just hit the windows button, type MSYS2 MSYS and run it to open the terminal. Btw. those commands you are seeing are Arch Linux commands. If you plan to install stuff using MSYS2 make sure to run pacman -Syu to update first, then install any package. Then press the windows button, type "variable". There should be a result something like "system variables" or "environment variables". I don't know the English name what is actually shown for you there. Open it. Note that admin rights are needed! Next, Advanced > at the bottom is a button something in English like "environment variables" and click on it. Lastly, either edit for the user or system wide for "Path". Meaning, double click on either for the individual user or under "system variables" on "Path". A new window will appear. Click on "New" and add the value C:\msys64\mingw32\bin Hit the OK buttons and once that is done, go back to the terminal and run gcc --version. Note, whatever standard font or font size you are having in the browser just to be sure here: there are two dashes (- -) in "--version". If you receive the version of GCC you did everything right and you have succesfully installed GCC.
