Hey guys! In this video, I cover why I am switching from the Form Lighting Headlights to the Morimoto XB Evo Headlights for my 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner. Follow along as I show how to disassemble your 4Runner’s front end, how to configure your new Morimoto XB Evo headlights to support the Amber DRLs and sequential turn signals, how to install the supercharged drivers, and how to get every thing installed and reassembled back onto your 4Runner! At the end of the video I show you the light output and functionality from both a head-on perspective and from the drivers perspective!
If you enjoy this video, please like share and subscribe! Thank you guys!

I am never taking that front end off again! lol. Luckily I did not have those issues. I did have to take it apart twice because I forgot about the bottom brackets which you mentioned not to do in your install video LOL. I'll probably leave those in until I trade it at a later time. Also, my left side in that poor design area does not snap back like it did stock. I agree, those are MUCH nicer than the FORM but I only paid 830 for my set. Congrats!

Hey man, it happens! I forgot to install mine at one point lol. You might have a broken bracket if it didn’t snap in like before. I loved my Forms, but I didn’t want to give it a third try.

@@ProjectAbate I had some work done on my hood, and I asked the body shop to try. He said a little flap was flipped wrong, they got it tighter but he said it's a poor design and sometimes they just don't snap back the same once you fool with them.

@@armen7932ehh I don’t know about that- they’re pretty straight forward. You might just need a new bracket to hold the bumper. Check eBay

Driver side beam needs to be aimed higher to match passenger side. You can benefit from advanced optics fullest with correct aim. When aimed against the wall, both driver side and passenger side cutoff shall be same matching height. If your vehicle is stock height(no lift or larger tires fitted), cutoff shall be same height as ground to center of the headlamp height( if you look headlamp lens closer in front of outer projector, you will see small circle indication, this is called Optical center mark). In short, Step 1 : measure distance(height) from ground to optical center mark, Step 2: find wall 25' feet away on leveled ground, adjust aim so cutoff line height from the ground is same as lamp height you measured in step 1. BOTH driver side and passenger side to be same height. If your vehicle is lifted total up tp 4.5", then you want to see your cutoff to be 2" below headlamp height at 25' distance wall. Anything more than 4.5' lift total 3" down aim is needed. You will even enjoy maximum potency of XB Evo optics, and to add note, even SC driver is labeled as Offroad use only, low beam is assessed not to cause glare by IIHS glare evaluation method. It is still highly refined and regulated. reach out Morimoto for aiming guide if visual is needed

since you ran the DRL and headlight heater function to your auxbeam board, those features will only work when you press your designated button on your main switch in the cab? And will you still need to flash the highbeams 4 times to activate the heater once your switch is on?
@ProjectAbate
@ProjectAbate 2 күн бұрын
The DRLs will not turn on until I hit the Auxbeam. That being said, if I turn my headlights on via the column, the “DRL” lights will automatically come on, just a little dimmer than the actual DRLs because they’re on at night with the headlight on (I believe)…. Yes, the heaters are not automatic. You have to hit the column to activate them.
