I can definitely tell the difference on big hits and bombing rock gardens, but I'm still not sure about the lateral stiffness. I am running lower pressure and I think that is skewing my perception.

A great trick I learned yesterday (from Carl at Corvallis Cyclery) is to remove your valve stem before inflating to seat the bead. Then when you pull the pump connector off cover the stem real quick with your finger and reinsert the valve stem (with a valve stem tool). This allows you to get a lot more air in quicker and easier to seat the bead.
@The_Sampler
@The_Sampler 8 жыл бұрын
Yep that's a great one indeed, but only if you have a compressor to attach. When at the bike shop, I certainly remove the core to get tires seated.
@greentransmission

No need for a compressor - we did it by hand with a floor pump - but of course a compressor helps! Great channel and videos!

Very much appreciate the vid, Alex. I'll by making my first attempt at this tomorrow. Wouldn't it be easier to mount the tires first, though, before putting on the cassette and rotors? Just seems like less chance of damaging the components or the phalanges and flesh.

Recently subscribed to your channel, this video is awesome for showing how to go tubeless! How do u like the Enduro? I bought a 16 6 fattie & went to 2.6 purgatory & slaughter tires 3.0's felt like pushing a wheelbarrow on a flat haha. Just got another stumpy, 650b Elite & im sooo stoked on it! I've never took the enduro on a demo so I was curious as to your opinion? I got the 650b for jump lines & it rocks! Thanks for the awesome videos! I never got the tyre to sit properly with tubes on 29er trail/enduro/dh tyres, even when I used park tool tyre truing pliers, I used Bontrager se4 and Maxxis Highroller 2 , but when using tubeless, the tyres were straight straight away.but light xc tyres like Bontrager XR 1 Team issue 26 it worked fine with tube. but I think rim and tyre combination has something to do with it too. but I tried on a Bontrager duster rim and tubelss worked perfeclty, the tyre was straight, but not with a tube.

Have you thought about carbon vs the ammonium in the sealant? I had a customer come in with a set of carbon wheels that pretty much disintegrated after a few seasons of riding with stans, the ammonium reacts with the resin pretty much activating it again. Awesome videos though, love the epic places you get to go to!

Ok so I'm very late but do you really need to use sealant? Or is ur just a good precaution
@randomrcprojects3754
@randomrcprojects3754 5 жыл бұрын
Cameron Hill for tubeless systems you don’t have too but the whole point is to not have to replace tubes so the sealant is very recommended if not tubes are your way to go

So what psi are you running now? What do you suggest for Fruita?
@The_Sampler
@The_Sampler 8 жыл бұрын
I'm going to try running around the 24psi mark because these rims are supposed to be able to hold much lower pressure, but generally I do 26/27

And thats why you put the rotors on the rim at the end, just before you mount it. This way you do not: - spill sealant over them - bend them when you drop the wheel while messing with the tire - etc.
