Thanks for videos . I recently purchased the 4 way harness , installed into thinline telecaster. Great service prompt delivery and well packaged . There is a noticeable improvement in the control and the tones available. Quick note .. If installing into thinline .. Need to extend the slot, by approx 2mm to allow 4 way switch to function properly. It took me an age to fathom out Maybe print this on the included diagram. Thanks again

Thanks for the feedback on the slot. We’ll update accordingly. Cheers

Hi Jase. Can you elaborate? Do you mean the slot for the blade selector on the switch? Also, how did the guitar behave before you extended the slot? Asking because in my case, the neck pickup is active in what should be the bridge position, despite following the diagram, and I am not sure what the reason is. Maybe it could have something to do with what you are saying?

Hey there, Great video! Is using silver solder a must?
@GuitarNTabs5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that - I might try that, on one of my Teles, at some point! Would there be any particular buzz/hum, more than usual with single coils? Also, did you adjust the pickups in height, or? Cheers & Happy New Year!
@SixStringSupplies5 жыл бұрын
If done properly and well grounded, there is no buzz. I didn't adjust any of the pickup heights or any other settings. You too, have a great 2020!

Awesome! My current project is a 4 way Tele as well. Only difference is I have a Gibson humbucker in the neck position. Would that require a similar grounding mod?
@SixStringSupplies5 жыл бұрын
It's exactly the same, check the Gibson colour coding. Black wire is the ground (to switch) bare goes to ground (volume pot) and red goes to the switch too.
@joseceraia3 жыл бұрын
Did I see it correct? In the previous video you said that the neck HOT wire goes to pin 6 in the 4 way, and in this video you put it on pin 7
@davidethangraham5 жыл бұрын
In all 4 positions, the neck is the only one working. Where do you think I went wrong? I also have no ground from the bridge. It's the old school type of bridge. Is that it?

I have the same problem. I wish someone could give an answer
@davidethangraham4 жыл бұрын
@@vinshade I figured out my particular problem. There is a single wire on to of the black part bridge pickup. I yanked that off. I put another on there and it's all good

Thanks for a great video. I have a few questions. What is the thickness of your Squier body? I ask because I have a Bullet Tele and they are only 1.5 inches thick. Do you know if this mod with those parts (specifically the switch) will fit a thinner Tele body? Thanks again
@SixStringSupplies5 жыл бұрын
Hi. The body on this fender squire Tele model is 46mm thick (1.8”) the cavity depth required for the switch is 36.5mm

I just did this mod not long ago and I noticed bridge only and series have a bit of noise not present on parallel and neck only. Any advice? Is it normal? Sounds like a buzzy 60 cycle hum in addition to 60 cycle hum on bridge only. Goes away when I touch bridge or strings.

Hi, is there a way to do this four way system where the two middle positions are bridge/neck in parallel or in series? ie so the forward switch position is just neck and the back position just bridge. If so do you have a video for it? Many thanks.

Will the loaded telecaster harness fit a Squire a bullet?
@SixStringSupplies3 жыл бұрын
Hi - not without plugging and drilling. They will fit US/Mex Fender modes with no modifications required.

I’ve just had a thought would it be best if I bought the wired harness with out the control plate and keep the control plate from my Squire?
@SixStringSupplies3 жыл бұрын
@@sy84 still would not fit - the dimensions are for US sized. So you would need to drill holes bigger in your control plate. The distance between the pots is different too. The best thing for you would be to DIY it (you commented on this video too) Buy the components separately, wire it from scratch and source a control plate that fits (or drill the holes bigger in your current one) Have a nice weekend thanks for watching!
