nice! as long as you hook into the studs or i-beams in the ceiling, it will hold hundreds of pounds. You could also distribute the weight over several of them.

Do you have any recommendations for installing a swing into a door frame? I'd like to put one in for my toddler, or hire someone to do it

You should be able to just drill right into the middle of the door frame, assuming it is wood.

Also, it seems like some of those baby swings that are designed for that can hook into the door frame without needing to drill.

Yeah, luckily he is 6 now so it would be okay if he did! Actually, this is in a basement and that window just has a window well, so would be fine if he went through the window! We moved to a new house, and we put swings in the basement there too, and no windows by those ones!

well I had the swings for 3 years after this, and then I put swings in our new house for the last 3 years, and no one has gone through the window yet! But, we have had a couple fall out of the ceiling while on it, so I use better screws now.

Did u secure it into the support beams in the ceiling? How has it held up? Would u consider it safe?

Yes, I made sure to drill into the I-beams behind the dry wall on the ceiling. I also have found that it is better to use the thicker loops from Home Depot. I had one of the thinner ones break. So, now that I have all thick loops, I consider it safe. It has held up well. I guess it just depends on how rowdy your kids are on them! I play what we call "Wrecking Ball" where I roll a huge exercise ball at my kids as they are swinging and they bounce all around, so we are pretty rough on them! Good luck!

never - they get clean when it rains

can I screw these in the rafters in the basement , also is there anything else you used except the eyeball screws ?

yeah, you can just screw them right in - I just screwed them right into the drywall and the I beams behind it. And yeah just those screws with a loop on them. I recommend getting pretty thick screws, and screwing them all in. I had one of them that was small and not screwed in all the way eventually break because of the back and forth bending.

Sorry I made the video after the fact, but basically I just drilled holes into the ceiling. I found the studs or I-beams by using a stud finder - that way you know where to drill. Then, you just twist the loop screws into it.

hmm, that is a bummer. Although it is strange - the wire would most likely just be loose in there and should get messed up if you just drill right into an I Beam
