@@uriel-heavensguardian8949 The outside of the tent version you show is not a wise thing to do. You need to dump the extracted air outside of the room or you will be recirculating used air and get less growth in your plants. That said if you had a reliable good CO2 system the outside method would be ok. But it would be OK with the extra CO2.

Those are great if you want to open and close them every single dark cycle. Cant have them open during the dark. What i do is use the same vent hole he does but hook up like 5ft of ducting and lay it around the border in a U shape so no light gets in through the ducting. So far works great. No light leak and ventilation is keeping it at a steady 75* and 55% humidity.

An AC unit unfortunately, moving air is not enough to cool 100 degrees to lets say 70 degrees. Also the shed would need to be insulated or it will cost you a fortune, the AC unit would run 24/7. There are cheap ways to insulate it and a window unit is around 150$. If your in the south and not out west, you may also need a dehumidifier at those temps.
@frostytreats6680Ай бұрын
Gonna need ac for that. Do 2 or 3, 3x3 living soil beds, in a 10x10 or 12x12 shed, insulated and sealed. Microbial activities in the soil w 2 or more beds will hold your co2 over 1000ppm so won't even need a tank.

I'm wondering if there are any mushroom growers out there that watched this video. What I aim to do is have the carbon filter and fan outside, stacked on the ground and the duct going up then into the high port on the side, with the airflow flowing into the tent. I believe filtering the air before it goes into the tent is better for mushroom growers to reduce contamination. This puts the tent in a positive pressure (I believe this also is better to reduce contamination). The air will flow out of a vent i will place in one of the bottom tent ports which is a louvered vent that opens only when air is forced through it. I want the air flowing out the bottom to get rid of CO2 (created by the mushrooms) for a good FAE (CO2 sinks in air). Inside the tent will be very high humidity at times, and i know this fan is supposed to be ok with that, but everything breaks down in time and keeping the fan outside could extend its life, and one less thing to clean inside the tent. Is anyone else doing it like I described?
@bobthorn7879 Жыл бұрын
I'm trying to figure out my setup (for mushrooms) at the moment. I bought the inline fan kit, but I keep hearing a centrifugal exhaust is the best for "our health"/maintanence in case of spores. Apparently spores fill the room with a positive pressure setup and inlines are bad for exhaust seeing how they clog easily. So I'm thinking of swapping and having an inline duct fan for fresh air as well? Need more information!
@purplesmoke4612 Жыл бұрын
To be honest, I think that's a perfect idea because you are definitely reducing the risk of contamination if you're doing this method. When I grew mine, I didn't have any ventilation in my setup. What I did to reduce the risk of contamination is just leave the mycelium alone. Whenever I had to mist the mushrooms, I would fan it out to circulate some air using the lid of the tote I was fruiting these in. All you really have to worry about is the lighting and temperature when it comes to cultivating mushrooms. You don't have to worry about spending hundreds on a ventilation system or even in a tent, it's nice to but remember, the mycelium becomes pretty resistant to contamination once it covers the substrate you're using. They can be found growing on poo and poo is poo

The fan + carbon filter outside should be a last resort, best is to hang the carbon filter inside, run a duct outside and connect it to a fan thats mounted outside. You have plenty of room left in the left, your carbon filter is being used in the most efficient manner, your fan isnt getting dirty sucking in air that isnt filtered and your tent keeps the heat down. Its all benefits and no drawbacks.

HVAC rule: any exit flow from a fan must have at least 3 or 4 flow diameters before a change in flow direction and that change needs to occur gradually and not in a single 90deg turn least you cut your flow rate by half. A radius of 10 diameters is not too much. For a 4” diameter exhaust this would be 4-16” exit distance before a 40” diameter turn radius. These facts can be seen in every manufacturers ads showing a fan with a straight intake to exhaust ducting setup. When will the uninitiated stop trying to lead the uninformed?? If you understand this, please explain why some you would choose to decrease the CFM of the setup by half for each violation?

In layman's terms, please. I don't understand most of these facts. What is your solution? Is this setup practical or is there an obvious flaw that you note?
@FatswellSmart Жыл бұрын
@@victorgr54 so for the layman, if your using a 6 inch fan, you would need a straight section of ducting 3 to 4 times the diameter of the fan before a change in flow direction. if you need to change direction of the airfow with the ducting you need to avoid sharp 90deg turns. instead use gradual changes which will help in reducing turbulence and pressure drop. Sharp turns lead to increased resistance. ideally the filter connected to the fan connected to a straight section out of the tent in a straight line is the ideal setup.

DO NOT STICK THAT DUST FILTER INSIDE ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO GO INSIDE IT ALMOST WRECKED MY FAN EVEN TALKED TO ACINFINITY AND THEY ALL SAY ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO GO INSIDE. WATCHED MANY VIDEOS AND READ MANY GUIDES NOT ONE SAYS TO GO INSIDE. BAD VIDEO!

Don’t stick the dust filter where exactly? I don’t want mine to mess up either? Could you elaborate a little bit?

The AC Infinity fan mount is garbage, probably 90% of people use it in a tent and all they have is a plate to mount it to a wall and no pole mount.

Even easier!! You just have to clip the slings in those 4 holes !! It's even demonstrated on ever AC photo of their installation (the one that comes with the fan for example 😜)

And put the intractror inside the tent and the carbon filter outside it's possible
@peckerwood780 Жыл бұрын
The methods you're showing drastically decrease air flow. Putting a 90° turn in the airline cuts about 40% of the airflow. They need to be as straight as possible.
@everythinggrows Жыл бұрын
These units can handle the pressure required to flow through turns. Besides, enlighten me on a way that doesn’t have any turns. Am I supposed to have it stacked like a totem pole and still somehow have the vent and filter elevated in the air?
