That FMK550 Mount Kit you used has got to be the best one out there from what I've seen. Thanks for the vid on it, it really helped my setup!

Nice video. I’m trying to remove an aftermarket radio similar to this from a 2002 ranger and cannot not work out how to get that plastic housing back out. Does yours come with a way to push the tabs in or does your one also seem to lock in solid? I’m about ready to start ripping off the plastic surround but I can’t work out what clips are holding that on either! 😅 any tips or suggestions?

Most aftermarket brackets / radios don't have the little holes exposed that this guy is feeding his tools into for accessing the release mechanism like the stock one does. In fact, lots of aftermarket stereos actually warn that once you push them in, the only way to pop them back out is to remove the trim to get at the little release mechanism. Fortunately for the ranger it's actually really easy. remove the two bolts just above the climate controls holding the plastic trim in place, then carefully shimmy a towel-wrapped flathead under the trim corners and (gently) pop the little clips out. Chris Fix has a video about removing the stock radio this way (without the tool) that shows the process kzbin.info/www/bejne/hne4nJSphrlqarM Once you have the whole unit out like Chris does in the video above, you can use a screwdriver to push in the little pins that lock the stereo in the housing, allowing it to slide out. Good luck!

Did the wiring harness come with the radio or did you have to get it separate
@partsandprojects5 ай бұрын
The radio comes with a harness. The second harness to connect to the factory connectors is purchased separately. If you purchase from crutchfield they include both harnesses

How much did the radio cost? & How do you like it?

Everything was $100 from Crutchfield.com & The radio sounds great! Far cleaner than the factory radio
