How to install Sony A90K Stand

Thanks for the video. Where did you find the silver screws that came with the TV? Also, I'm trying to do the raised position, so I don't know how different that'll be.

What’s up Martin. The silver screws comes with the TV. It’s for sure in a plastic wrap. The raised position is ideal for putting a sound at under the TV for a clean look. Or can even use it to put keyboard, mouse, or whatever you want 👍👍👊👊

Hi there, I intend to buy one of these for taking with me on trips around the country. I have an A0 art case that it fits perfectly into. I want something that I can slip the stand on and off easily. It looks like if you are careful that you should be able to stand this TV up without screwing the screws in and it will be fine if you are careful with it? Is this the case? I don't want you to answer being ultra cautious, I know that the ideal would be to screw those final screws in but just to get an honest view would be great.

I'm not sure about how those legs screw into the given holes on the oblong bottom metal stand and "lock into place: Oh boy. :(

The screws they give you have a Torx head - you need a TORX DRIVER!!!

Hey Chuggs. My XR-42A90K is on the way from Amazon. I plan to use the stand in extended/tall mode. How tall is the leg stand fully extended? I purchased a wall mount just in case. Also my desk is only 48W/24D. I know it will fit, but I'm a little worried about viewing distance. The jump from a 27' to 42' is pretty big. I was all set to purchase the INZONE M9 (preordered) then it got delayed. The delay is what lead me to consider the A90K. I'll give the A90k a try, nothing to lose really. If it works out it's a far superiors tv/monitor.

What’s up Anddo. The extender legs give it 2 inches, good for a soundbar or even a mouse and keyboard. I always reformed wall mounts though because more space on desk and it looks even cleaner. I was about to purchase the M9 too but sold out quick. For 500 more to get the A90K 42 inch, it’s definitely worth it! Give it try, you’ll love it 👊👊👍👊

Do you own it? You simply put the prop brackets in the same way as you as you do the normal ones, but screw those in first, then you use the provided sprung screws to fix the sliding brackets on top of those.

Although I installed the stand of my 42A90K the same way (TV flat on the table with soft foil underneath), this method is not recommended by Sony! They're warning in the instruction manual, NOT to put the TV flat on the table, to not risk damage to the panel (maybe because of the unusual weight allocation of the panel in that position). They say to put the stand on the floor, take the TV out of the box, directly put it on the stand and then secure it with the screws! 🤔

I purchased he 48" A90K - the stand is a relatively strong metal - maybe an alloy of some sort - heavy duty.

Even with the older LCD TV's you are told NOT to lay the TV down on its face!!!! I was told by the salesman that the only way to pick up the TV is by the bottom. Just getting it out of the box is a joke because, even when you slit the box so the front folds to the floor, the bottom of the TV is sitting in a big styrofoam block. So, how do you lift it by the bottom with it being in that block? After I set the TV down on the stand's legs, the holes don't line up and it's a PITA trying to get the screws in. The TV has to be lifted up slightly. Once it's standing up, you have to have a magnetic screwdriver to hold the screws because two of the holes are waaaaay inside the back of the TV. OBTW, the setup of the TV is a pain because the remote is terrible.

I feel like the LG C2 42 inch legs function better as a PC monitor since it gives space below the panel for wires and devices and also raises up the monitor. Sony stand is more TVish and doesn't really take into account the ergonomics of using it as a PC monitor.
