Could you use those metal locking clips if you wanted? The ones where you have to use both the lap and the shoulder belt when using the clip?

I noticed when you were installing it forward facing you left the seat belt twisted.

I did not know the tether strap on that seat was optional. Is that just a European thing? I know the Q strap which comes on some car seats is optional, but the tether strap comes on all car seats and is usually mandatory.

Hi there! we Just go that car seat and for now we are using it rear facing. But, when using forward facing do we really need to use the tether strap?. It does not look easy to reach the back of the seat to hook it up, every time on the go (taxi/uber). For those vehicle with more that 5 seats (vans) maybe, but for normal cars not.

Hi there! I'm Elise, the head car seat tech at Taxi Baby Co. You're exactly right, it's not super easy to find vehicles with easily accessible tether anchors outside the US. The Cosco Scenera NEXT actually lasts longer rear facing than it does forward facing (by around a year or more!) so we actually recommend you only use it rear facing, and don't use it forward facing at all. Keeps your little one safer and it's easier to use. By the way - yes, the tether is mandatory when the Cosco Scenera NEXT is used forward facing. Cheers :)

The top tether strap is literally what keeps the car seat in place during a collision. It limits the distance your child's head moves forward by 4-6" preventing your child from getting severe head injuries. It is life or death. If you want life, use it. PS- I've had extensive training in car seat safety.
