Thank you for the vid !! I made it by this video, the only correction is for the last wire, you have to connect to the 4th wire (power outlet) to the violet with white stripe wire!! And not the white with violet stripe. Anyway works perfectly thank you for the video !!!!

Hi! Just like described in the video, it can be connected to the Violet/White comb connectors to get ignition on power. It's nowhere mentioned White/Violet. 🙂 Enjoy your new feature! 👍

Hi! In this video, it's a 1997 M3. ODB1 or ODB2 doesn't really matter, you only need to have the GM4 (aka ZKE4) on your car to make the locking button functional. This module has been introduced in 1994 IIRC.

Hi guys :) Can somebody tell me, what is the wire White/Violette for? Its at 4th pin in the switch (61318368931, US Version). It has 4 pins inside. I have the switch in german Version (8 360 828 -it is not used in E36, only in E38/E39). This switch has only 3 pins inside. The pin "4" (in US Version Switch) is missing in ther German Switch. Its the white/Violette wire, that is missing in the German Version. So, what is the white/violette wire for? Can I use the German (E38/E39) Switch (8 360 828) for my E36 Convertible central Locking switch?

Yes you can, just watch the video of retro fitting e39/e38 locking button on e36... basically will creata the fourth pin with the connection
