Thx for pointing out this alternative. I'm using the "ARO Espresso Grinder Setting Dial for Eureka Mignon" instead. Because of the much bigger gear ratio from the knob to the dial, the setting is also very precise and repeatable. And it doesn't look or feel cheap also.
@dselevan1Ай бұрын
I have this one also. Trying to decide if I should get the official one or not. It is a hassle removing it to clean the machine
@klaushuber1499Ай бұрын
@@dselevan1 Yes removing is more difficult with the ARO. I don't have much coffee powder in that 'region' of the grinder. But I sometimes simply take a brush and the vacuum and go over the whole grinder to get rid of it. Maybe you could try to only loosen the screw at the back, to lift the big wheel a bit. So you can get under it without a complete removal.

Thanks Tom for the delivery, the King Size Dial arrived today. I was a bit hesitant if it would work with the bigger dial on the Mignon Zero. The good news is that it works, thanks to the smaller replacement dial that's included.

I have been looking at the aluminum version of the ARO but I like that this is actually OEM from Eureka. Whenever you say the word "excellent" it reminds me of Mr. Burns from The Simpsons. I like your subtle sense of humor. 😂

Aro is more expensive though and has 3D printed plastic as a touch point. I prefer aluminum. Just wish this dial was multitudinous, but the ARO isn’t either.

@@TomsCoffeeCornerhi Tom from the USA. Writing from Greece on vacation. I have the Aro aluminum version of their dial. It is quite nice. Would this #kingsizeddial be an upgrade? I was always assuming eureka would come out with one some day and I don’t like having to remove the dial to clean my machine. If you already had the aluminum Aro, would you keep that or get this? Does it make it simpler to clean?

Oh, this is nice and speaking of Eureka, I have a question. My wife and I are moving back to Europe, so I need to rebuy my espresso setup. Thoughts on a Bambino, Eureka Manuale and Fellow kettle at the same price as a Barista Pro? I was thinking that the separates will make at least marginally better espresso, but the Pro is just such a clean package and as an apartment dweller counter space is a premium. For some background. I do have a Barista pro now in the States, a Bambino Plus at the office and a Flair 58. I already use the Barista Pro the most, well, at home and really have no real complaints (not as consistent as the Flair and K6 but not world changingly different either). Thanks for any advice you can offer. Also, as always, I enjoyed the video, and that knob seems like a must!
@TomsCoffeeCornerАй бұрын
Honestly, I'd suggest getting a Pro over in Europe. It's better than the Bambino Plus, in that you can change the temp, and that rather easily. The grinder is fine in my opinion, and it uses the updated Baratza burrs now. You can bring your Flair with you, as its power brick can switch between US and EU voltages. Cheers!
@kitcraft9516Ай бұрын
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks, Tom! Thanks for the suggestion on the 58 too!
