Hi !! ... I just got my GK-3B to play it with my Fender JB MIM 5 strings and a Roland GR-20, but it only sounds from twelve frett to high, do you know what should I do to make it sound all over the freetboard?... Thanks

Hey thanks for the video! Just curious. Do you have any tracking issues (ghost notes) when playing your bass with the GR55? I’ve carefully followed all the steps in the manual, and I cannot get these ghost notes to go away. Wondering if it’s just the pickup itself or if there’s actually a way to configure the pickup without tracking issues. Hope you are not dealing with tracking problems like I am! Regardless, thanks for making this video

Hi @Toys From Taiwan: No, I don't have any tracking issues with the bass. On my guitar, at first I did have some problems. It takes a lot of adjusting both the pickup settings and the GR-55 settings to get it optimum. Search on the Vguitar Forums web site for a document called "GR-55 Setups and Settings Hints" which has a ton of helpful ideas on setting up your rig! The website is: www.vguitarforums.com/ Good Luck! :-)

Is this a proprietary thing that only works with a Roland product, or does it just convert bass notes to MIDI directly?

I can't say definitely if it will work with other systems. The only other 13 pin cable system I have heard of is by Axon, but I haven't used it and don't know anything about it. I only use the Roland GR-55. BTW, the GK-3 pickup does not convert notes to MIDI, it is a hexaphonic/divided pickup and the processor (e.g. the GR-55) can provide MIDI output which you can use for example as an input to your DAW.

I have a Dingwall. I hope I don't have to put any holes in it

Where you mounted it looks not so great IMO. The cord is stretched and it’s where my arm would be. Have you tried it over the Bridge?

I have since flipped it over and moved it to be mounted on the back. It is better, but still not ideal. The bracket still bumps into my hand. I covered the corner of the bracket with some black gaffer tape. There is no perfect location on this Ibanez bass to locate it. An internal GK kit would be better.

While leaving the 6.3mm Jack, on it whole day, would it consume the Battery?

Unfortunately, yes. You need to unplug it between uses unless you like replacing the battery often.
