You forgot to tighten the jam nut, better get that before the next ride! LOL , How often should you reset the preload ( check it)! Good Video I love the Tecnical stuff.

Hello: There is no set interval and mine almost never needs adjustment. If you hear the cam chain making a slight ticking sound, adjust it. Otherwise, ride it!

Do you really need to be at TDC? Just remove and replace the tensioner, does not affect timing I would think.

I was also thinking this myself

Great technical support, However should the bike be in any particular gear? Or just neutral? That's my question.Thanks in advance

Neutral

Where does the actual noise come from? Is it the chain hitting the tensioner pad bc the tensioner is off or broken?
@slaverace13 жыл бұрын
No. The pad is not broken, just a loose chain.

What changes with the chain since you have to put it TDC?
Hello: What are you referencing? At what minute in the video?

So I can feel the piston moving up and down when I rotate the crankshaft to find TDC.

Hey Jeff, I’m looking to replace the stock tensioner on my 19 250xcf and am curious if you prefer theTokyo mods tensioner over the dirt tricks tensioner and why.
@slaverace15 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a preference. I ride a 500 and only Tokyo Mods makes one for it.
