Gen 5 is latest and Gen 4 is common but Gen 3 speeds will serve you best and is comparatively cheaper nowadays. In this way you can clone your disk easily and keep the hard disk as secondary storage. Like XPG S70 Blade is 5.7K for Gen 4. P3 is Gen 3 for 4.1K RS Both are 1TB, price checked on Amazon on 18 Aug 2023
