How To Install USB-C Fast Charging in your 2016+ Ford Focus ST [Sync 3.4]

This video is to show you how to get USB-C and fast charging in your 2016+ ford focus st. The crazy thing is this works on all ford vehicles with ford sync 3.4 just buy the correct hub for your ford vehicle and you're good to go. I tested this out on my Pixel 4 XL and my Galaxy S9 and both phones received a bump up in charging speeds from it.

You need to get a power monitor as like you say ampere isn't great, but it's totally wrong for fast charging. Before you were most likely getting 5v 1A which is 5w, hopefully the usb c is doing usb c pd which is 9v so 2.2a is 19.8w so almost 4x as fast. A usb power monitor would confirm it though, but most phones won't say charging rapidly unless higher than 5v.

So glad see this video I am having the same issue with Ford Escape 2016 USB adapter which is no more working since I decided to change the Hub with a carplay usb hub no signal is coming when I plug any USB cable can you please help ???

Thanks, just ordered the hub for my mondeo V (fusion). I just hope it won't affect the fuse due to the much higher power output. Any experiences regarding that now after a year?

A quick way to cool down a hot phone in a car is to hold it near one of the vents while the AC is on. Doesn’t seem to harm the phone at all and cools it down in usually just a few minutes depending on how close you hold it

remember that the worst enemy for the battery is heat.. if you charge it too fast, more heat will be applied to the battery which will reduce its life significantly. - it's always better to charge slow than fast.. that's if you want the battery to last.

@@TechnationXyz I really am not a fan of SYNC 2, especially when I could toss in an aftermarket unit. I would prefer to upgrade to SYNC 3 but for the going prices ive seen, somewhere around $1000 theres no way since SYNC 2 isnt $1000 bad, its just slow and limited.

I have a 2018 ST3. No USB-C. It charges very quickly while I use AA. Not sure if it's maximum speed, but it is plenty for me.
