For every car that I have put spacers on, which is 4, they all called for red loctite on the oem studs, and blue loctite on the actual adapter/spacer studs. The red loctite keeps the spacer/adapter nuts from backing out. The blue loctite keeps the wheel lugs securely on. The blue is easy to take off. You need heat to take off the red loctite.
@FreedomCrawler Жыл бұрын
Using loctite is definitely key.

@@FreedomCrawler The spacers are 1.25" and made SpyderTrax (which I believe is a reputable brand). MSRP is $109 on their site. The nuts that came with them are very, very short. The set I ordered on Amazon does not fit into these spacers at all - the hole in the spacers is too small and the cone shaped part of the nuts are way too long compared to what was originally installed. This causes the nut to sit proud of the the face of the spacers which renders them unusable since the wheel won't sit flush with the spacer. I had to return the Amazon nuts unfortunately.

@FreedomCrawler Жыл бұрын
Should be fine. Do the Toyota wheels bolt right up to the Yukon? If so do you need the spacer or want it for looks? Either way so long as all the bolt patterns are the same then it downs matter if it’s Toyota or GMC. You just need the bolts patterns to be the same and if they are hub centric wheels to make sure you still have hub centric spacers that fit. The issues come when you have incorrect bolt patterns, play/movement anywhere, incorrect installation, and hub centric or not.

Spacers are fine if you get a good brand and install them correctly. Those are the two biggest issues. I’ve ran everything from rough country, spidertrax, g2, supreme and cheap amazon ones. All very similar with different names on them. If you’re spending $80-$100 + then you should be good. If you’re spending $20-50 I’d reconsider. Not saying they won’t work but you never know
