Only the usb. You use the cd only once to install the driver. If you don't have a cd rom then you can just get the driver on an usb

It’s a common issue, I suggest you unplug other USB ports and try to put this in a USB port again with others unplugged to see which one works correctly, this is a common port problem when we are trying to connect any router , printer etc

You don't. The USB adapter doesn't have an SSID or security key. That is on the router. Most routers have the wifi name (SSID) as well as the wifi password on a label on the back or bottom of the unit. The wifi usb adapter is just so that your PC can connect to your wifi network.

That depends on what type of Wi-Fi card you have. If you have a USB Wi-Fi card, then you obviously plug it into any USB port. If it is an internal Wi-Fi card, it would go into a PCI-E slot on the motherboard. Once you install your WiFi card, you will be able to connect to wifi networks. Side note: The CPU is the processor. The entire machine, or computer, is not called the "CPU".

No. That's not how this works at all. You have to have a Wi-Fi network already. This is simply a Wi-Fi antenna used to connect to Wi-Fi networks. You can have Wi-Fi for free, but you won't be able to use the internet. If you want internet, you have to pay for an internet connection from a service provider.

Yes of course. Most typical home desktops from around 2013 and older did not have Wi-Fi built in nor do most modern gaming PCs. So if you want to use Wi-Fi on a desktop, you will need to add a Wi-Fi adapter.
