Joe. I tried it on 21390 the Dev version, I installed Paint and version 11.2404 now opens and Notepad I already installed it and it works the latest version is 11.2405.13.0 except the snipping tool 11.2405 no longer opens but I downloaded it 11.2310.54.0 and works 100%

It's very easy to do so just get it from google or winaero. for notepad, however, You just have to uninstall new notepad run notepad.exe command using run or cmd, pin the old notepad in the taskbar. for snipping tool please see: windowsreport.com/old-snipping-tool-windows-11/ or the another option is to install windows 11 ltsc(losing all apps and settings, not files) and still if you want me to make a video please do tell me:)

tried installing the windows 11 snipping tool both following the steps in the tutorial, and using the provided already modified installation files that you were kind enough to make for us. i know this method works because i was able to install notepad a couple weeks ago, but this time the installer it's a "windows.appExecutionAlias extension: Access is denied." error (0x80070005). would this be fixable through further modifying the XML file?

for anyone else getting this error, can confirm that changing the CN name does work! if you can't find it, it will be at the top of the XML file. if you still can't find it, open the file in something like notepad++ and just Ctrl + F and type "CN" in the search bar, it will highlight where it is
