used a small flathead with a bit of blue shop towel to pry out the brass bushing. only required mild pressure to gain enough grab and it slid right out

Great DIY bart! I had this done in less than 10 minutes.

Using a slightly wide file can also help pull the brass bushing out. Although you risk damaging the bushing if you keep letting the file slip. I felt the pliers were having trouble gripping the inner barrel of the bushing.

hmmm...that is a good idea...maybe use cloth bandage tape or cloth harness tape on the taper part of the file and then push it through?

TSTindustries I think that is a good idea, especially when using a tapered file.

I bought one of these lever sets for my Monkey a couple of weeks ago. The craftsmanship is phenomenal, no question about it. Very high quality. I wanted to have the levers closer to the grips. The stock levers were too far for me. The Womet brake lever is ok on the shortest setting. But the clutch lever is actually further out than stock, on the shortest setting. I just installed it in the middle setting, as they came out of the box. Then turned it to the shortest setting....a little disappointed on how far from the grips they are, failing to meet my needs. I hope I did something wrong or there is a way to make them shorter/closer to the grips?

Btw, the clutch lever is much further out than the brake lever, in the same setting.

The clutch and brake do not always end up at the same distance from bar per setting. That is valid for all the bikes that these levers are manufactured for. I think the best course of action for you is to cantact our excellent customer service team. They are better equipped to help you with this issue.

That brass fitting could not be more difficult to get out
@TSTindustries4 жыл бұрын
Yes it can be troublesome for some people, depending on the tools used. You can spray some WD40 or another penetrating lubricant in there to make it a little more slippery for removal.

Any tips? Can’t take out brass fitting.

You can spray thin oil like WD40 around the bushing area and then try the method portrayed in the video again.
