How to Install WordPress using Wampserver on a Windows 8 / Windows 10

In this Video I am going to show How to install WordPress on localhost using Wamp. So I will explain step by step How To Install WordPress Locally On A Windows Computer. Installing WordPress On Windows Locally With WAMP can be difficult for beginners. We can easily Set Up WordPress Locally for PC/Windows for testing.
This method of How to Install WordPress Locally will work on Windows 10 / Windows 8.
WAMP is a Windows OS based program that installs and configures Apache web server, MySQL database server, PHP scripting language, phpMyAdmin (to manage MySQL database’s). WAMP stands for Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP. wampserver installer can be easily downloaded from its website on windows . figured it out, if you are running skype it uses the local port setting that the wamp server uses, go got your skype options,>connections and disable the port and it should work. You will have to close skype.

at 11:16 I do not get that page. It does not show the wp logo. it says Warning: Parameter 1 to wp_default_styles() expected to be a reference, value given in D:\Apache24\htdocs\wordpress\wp-includes\plugin.php on line 601 I put wp in d: drive. My apache 2.4 is working and running, my php 7.1 seems to be working ok also. I can see my phpinfo.php I can now see my phpmyadmin ok now. mysql 5.7.14 seems to be working fine also. I don't understand why I can't get wordpress to install function properly. I did as I was supposed to. I download wordpress, unzip it, then put in my htdocs. I go to localhost/wordpress and it give me error warning message. I can't figure this out at all. help!

In my case was because i didn't have the C++ packages that wamp needs to complete the installation, just install them, uninstall the current wamp and reinstall here is the link directly with microsoft www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Don't waste your time with WAMP. I spent 2 days trying to get Wordpress to work with WAMP on 4 different machines. Finally, I tried XAMPP and it worked. Just look at WAMP's troubleshooting FAQ list. It's a mess. It reads like something from the 1970's.

did you change your port when installing WAMP? If you selected 8080 or another port number you will have to enter it as: localhost:8080/wordpress or localhost:(numbers you used)/wordpress
