Once you have checked the contents of the robot and the tools required for installation, decide on a location for the charging station. This should be on a flat, shaded surface. This is a very important step, as it allows the robot to recharge completely independently. You should also make sure that the base is less than ten metres from a power source.
Before starting to install the wire, remember to mow the lawn so that it is no more than 60mm high, and remove any clutter. For example, remove any games, pipes or tools that might be lying around.
You then need to mark out the mowing area for your robotic lawnmower using the boundary wire. You can attach the stakes directly to the grass without digging a trench.
You can now connect the two ends of the boundary wire to the base. Make sure you connect the wire correctly, and use the LED lights on the base as a guide. The steady green LED indicates a good connection.
Then place the robot in its mowing area and check the connections as shown in the video. Firstly, by checking that the robot returns to its base, and secondly, by correctly completing its turn along the boundary wire.
