Thank you for the visit. Make sure you are using the same layout file "_Layout.cshtml" for all of your views (Index,Contact). Copy below code in index.cshtm view @{ ViewBag.Title = "Home Page"; Layout = "~/Views/Shared/_Layout.cshtml"; }

Error resolved That's because i was using asp.net core in which i need place the folders in wwwroot folder
