Well done. I have hostplus, I opted for aus-indexed, and intl-indexed many years ago. Simple, low cost indexing.

You can also select asx shares e.g. ETFs like NDQ, IVV, QUAL etc...within Hostplus. Costs a little more, but (much) higher returns (likely)

Noting ATO SMSF residency rules, I would be most grateful if you could address the topic of SMSF control via POA whilst a trustee moves overseas indefinitely. What are the practical considerations (requirements/constraints) of how the SMSF is managed in this case? Is a family member suitable to hold the POA? What might an absent trustee need to avoid doing (regarding control)?

I have SMSF and half of the balance is in direct share investment. Mostly blue chips and accumulate over time, plus reinvestment. Once my fund is in the pension mode, is it true that the franking credit can be claimed, and further increase the yield of the portfolio?

Hi. How are international ETFs treated for tax when you put your fund into pension phase. Does the tax treaty with the US take this into account? Cheers

Many asx international ETF shares are domiciled in Australia, for example, NDQ (Nasdaq), IVV, and 100s of others (domiciled in Oz so no issue with tax). But perhaps you do have US-domiciled ETFs?

I have fund many funds that offer direct investment in ASX shares. But I am really wanting to invest my super in individual shares listed on the S&P 500. Does anybody know a fund that offers this option? As I don't want to set up a SMSF.

do not think you can do that, best way to do is buy those etf with sp 500 index, direct invest in ivv and vts etc.

It is allowed with a SMSF depending on the Trust Deed and Investment Strategy.
