What is the difference between main tank and alt tank and how can you determine which is wich?

@EdokLock depends on the comp your playing, for example: when you play Kog'Maw comp, Scar is the main tank and Garen is the off-tank. Even though Garen is a strong main tank, for that comp, you will most likely have Scar 3 to main tank.
