Hi amazing video! I struggle to keep the metal stamp stable when hammering it down because it keeps shifting. I tried metal stamp holders, but the stamp still ends up shifting and makes the final stamp blurred. Do you know anyway to fix this issue? Thanks.
@Hollyhock74 жыл бұрын
Have you tried a brass hammer? Brass will help take some impact and lead to less shifting

do you recommend 3mm or 4mm metal stamps for jewelry making?
@MoonstoneMamas4 жыл бұрын
TÁJ NZURI depends on what you’re trying to stamp on! Smaller project I’d recommend 3mm larger or accent stamp I’d go with 4mm or larger! Good luck to you ! Thanks for watching!

Where did you buy your stamps from?
@MoonstoneMamas3 жыл бұрын
I bought my alphabet set from hobby lobby so that I could utilize the 40% off coupon! However I have bought stamps from yard sales, good will, beaducation.com! Anywhere stamps are available! Thank you for watching!!!

See how it looks like she hit it 2x? Using that hammer made her stamp bounce. Using a brass hammer is key. There are super cheap options for hammers as well. I got mine from harbor freight. If you use these generic household hammers and to help prevent bouncing, put your blanks over the tape then put your tape for a guide.

Another tip I've learned for being heavy handed with that hammer, as are you which is totally cool but you will learn to he not so heavy handed over time as I have, but pick up a cheap mallet from harbor freight, then tirm pendant over on some tape then wack and they will flatten out without affecting your stamp.

Just fyi, dont stamp on that table. You will get bounce back. The best thing to put your anvil or rotor on is a wooden post, something wooden and solid so the energy from the hit goes downwards and not outwards.

Devon, Thought you might fine this interesting. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3-8Z4WZZb-We6c) You can watch from the beginning but I think if you start at 12:30 it'll be more interesting. Pay closer attention when you get to 18:00 Enjoy. - Stay aware and keep yoyr stamp as straight up as possible to avoid edge marks. Just take a pair if flat pliers and press the bent ones flat again. Those are really nice stamps. If the blanks are cheap enough, make bracelets ; chains with a name spelled out.

Exactly, something like Jax, or Liver of Sulfur would work(depending on the metal) for something you’d wear daily especially around water!
@charley4082 жыл бұрын
@@MoonstoneMamas exactly. However, since we are appealing to cheaper options you can actually use an egg to patina silver. Seriously, I've done it when dead broke.

I think showing people how to flatten a bow in the metal by just whacking it is not helpful. You can be casual, organic. After you have learned the correct way to do things. The thrifing part is good re the steel brake.
