I also thought that those are copper wires so can connect by matching colours but thank you for confirming it, if you use heat shrink tubes on each smaller wires and on the bigger wire then the connection will be perfect without any fear of breakage

Did this for the DSL line to connect it to my Home network from CAT5e to CAT6. Color match the wires. I soldered the wires & shrink wrap them, but not required. My ISP used butt splices to do the same thing.

fibre cable is another technology(it sends data through light), it wont join like this because Ethernet cable works like normal electric cable it sends data using conductivity
