people sometimes think that mundane daily activities are not exciting enough to journal about - after my husband died his daily journals of our farm's activities have become our daughters' treasure - they read the simple yearly journals over and over and feel comforted and close to their dad. the recording of even the simplest activity can mean a lifetime of memories for not just you. thank you for reminding everyone that the ordinary is extraordinary! xx

I love the daily journaling encouragement. It is important to leave a legacy to our families. One of the best times we've had as a family on my husband's side was going through a trunk full of letters and reading them out loud to each other the day after my mother-in-law's funeral. We laughed, we cried, we learned so much about her as a person and not just as a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Your children and grandchildren (when that day comes) are going to love all of your journals so much!

Thank you for another beautifully filmed video. I too put odd bits and pieces into my journal, because it has to be relevant to my life. I have been sticking the 'tabs' of my herbal teas in as the brand I use has wonderful quotes on the paper tag attached to the t'bag for eg: speak to make yourself happy, don't speak to impress others. I absolutely love your little drawing of what you wore. In years to come when you fondly look back over your life what a wonderful memory to reflect on. Have a wonderful rest of the week Johanna x

I used to write a lot when I was younger, I have many journals from then. But then I stopped, and when my anxiety started to get worse I decided to write out my thoughts and feelings. Even the simplest things I did that day I write it down. It really helped me calm down and relax. I also love to junk journal and add things I don’t want to get rid of but no longer use.

I definitely don’t journal every day but one thing I would say makes a journaling easy is actively writing about only positive things because you more likely thank not won’t want to revisit tough times as much as you would like to revisit the happy memories. So really try and keep it positive and that way it keeps you going back to them, also it really helps you personally with your own mood
@JohannaClough5 жыл бұрын
I think you’re right although it can be helpful to write every range of emotions you feel. But in saying that i usually write positively- that’s generally my mindset and i think journaling helps with that ♥️

Hi Johanna- I am enjoying this new journal for a lot of reason but mainly because it's getting back to what or why we journal in the first place. Yes, its about all the lovely goodies we find to embellish but mainly the journaling. It is about documenting life, not just the good bits. Thank you for showing us your process. This video made me anxious, I just couldn’t stop thinking about how much all these stickers must cost, and you use tons of them. I guess until I find a very well-paying job my journals will be decorated exclusively with my drawings or free stuff like movie leaflets, etc. Sigh.
@JohannaClough5 жыл бұрын
This vid isn’t about stickers, you definitely don’t need them. 🙂 Btw, the label stickers are only a few dollars on ebay for a whole box, the cat stickers were sent to me by a friend, and the tiny word stickers may be a little more expensive than ebay ones but they go a long way, I only used two on this spread.

There's some more ideas for questions about yourself you should analyze much more: How do you feel today? Why? What do you want right now? What would you like to change in your life? Why? How can you change something? What does make you happy/sad? Why? What do/don’t you like in yourself? Why? /// always write truth about it, don't lie to yourself. After these questions you will feel relief and after some time you will notice progres in your emotional life.

Question for everyone: Do you like your own handwriting?
@Lyllie_5 жыл бұрын
I used to hate it, but I do like it now, because literally EVERYBODY, who's opinion I care about, told me that it is just perfect. It's got the perfect balance of my personality (creative, chaotic, don't want to obey the rules xD (->I am doing my own thing) ) and an overall nice look. My best friend loves it so much, she's always like "OMG THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL -wait you wrote that right? Of course it is xD" ... can you attach photos to comments? XD What about you, do you like your handwriting? :D

My lower case handwriting is rubbish, but if I wrote in all capitals, it stays tidy and looks better so I just do that haha

Yes, kind of. People seem amazed I write mostly in cursive, but it's just the most convenient way for me, ever since we learned that at elementary school. So everyone else is impressed, except my mother, who says my handwriting is rubbish compared to the old folks, who trained really meticulously. LOL I agree, mom is right. The old folks had a really hard time perfecting their handwriting, and mine can be just super messy if I'm not paying attention, because we never trained to be perfect (I'm grateful for the more liberal and child friendly spirit at schools in my childhood).
