How to jump-start stuck mechanical watch

Friend gave me an old pocket watch that did not function. The mainspring was overwound so I found a site showing how to release it but that didn't work. I found this video and the gentleman did his watch the same way a couple of times to get it started. Well, I now have a running pocket watch with no out-of-pocket change! LOL and Thank you Sir.

Take it back to the watch repairers and insist that they fix this problem
