We demonstrate how to Elephant Posture ( Gaja Vadivu ) in Kalari. This pose is great for grounding ones self mentally, physically and emotionally. It also builds strength and stamina in the legs, back, pelvic floor, and mid-section.
Elephant Posture also asks a lot in terms of hip mobility/range of motion. It can be performed with varying depths, heights or ranges of motion. If more comfortable hinge the hips and the knees LESS, keeping the spine straight (natural curve), in a more up right position.
