subscribed. great video. I know this is a longshot, but how do you get the flywheel/rotor reinstalled? I've torqued down the center bolt with air impact wrench, but still have about 1/8" to go before it is fully seated. the starter gear behind it still has a little play in it, so I'm sure it needs to go that last 1/8". Maybe I need to get a stronger impact gun? Kawasaki KLF400

An impact is the way to go on these. You don't want to over tighten it with a big one, but a 3/8" drive will treat you right. Thanks for watching and the commet.

Thanks for the vid, I'll be changing the pick up coil on mine this weekend. I've replaced the coilpack, rectifier, and cleaned the carb. it will run fine in idle or until it warms and then suddenly will quit taking throttle and idle only. hopefully this fixes it

Is there a bolt that holds the stator cover case on from the opposite side of the motor?

There is not. Is yours difficult to remove?

Need some help. I inherited my Grandpa's 98 Kawasaki Bayou. Replaced spark plug, ignition coil, replaced petcock. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start. Took the window plug off by the pull start and oil would spit out. Is this normal? Or do I have to replace the stator and make sure oil isn't somehow leaking into the housing? Any advice is appreciated.

Bummer, sounds like you'll need to replace the crankcase seal. You don't want oil inside with the stator. Thanks for watching.

That’s the timing plug where you can see when the machine is at top dead center. That area when opened, and running will spout oil.

@@jairomarquez2304 i got a tire bar and put it behind the clutch/stator cup and tapped it with a hammer. the woodruff key should come out easily after that then the flywheel should slip right off.
