I love flannel sheets and pillow cases along with 2 comforters in duvet covers. My most important items for keeping warm are heat packs filled with feed corn. ( they make great gifts) My largest one is 13 "X 7.5 " and I heat it in the microwave for a full 4 minutes before putting it in a flannel pillow case and putting it in the bed under the comforters. I have homemade heat packs ( also filled with feed corn) that I drape around my neck or keep on my lap to keep warm during the day. They are 18 x 4 inches and I heat them for 2 minutes and 15 seconds. If it is really cold I will take multiple heat packs to bed. They stay warm for hours.I heat the packs just before I turn out the lights. Also cozy socks and oversized flannel pajamas help keep me warm. Another useful tip to keep warm is to hang a door curtain in front of your door. Heavy long drapes or a quilt hung with ring clips will do the trick. You might need a Portier rod for this.

We used to heat a rock on a wood stove and wrap in newspaper and place in the bed for our feet. It kept us warm most of the night.😊

@@janeAskew-b6x my grandmother would load bricks into the wood stove, then at bedtime, wrap the bricks in newspaper. These were put at the the foot of the bed to keep our toes warm.

I wear old socks with the toe part cut off and a cut in the heel for my thumb, as fingerless gloves in the house.

You can fill a empty juice jug, water bottle, etc almost full of very warm water , put the lid tightly on and put under your covers to warm the bed up
