I keep my excess pile worms in a large tote that’s full of the seeweed and aquarium saltwater, I use reef sand on the bottom, and a few pieces of live rock too, but live rock is not required, the sand is... also needs at least a bubbler, but a small powerhead is better... they can actually live in the tote for extended periods, feed them anything fishy from the ocean- anchovy, old fish carcass, shrimp, old bait, etc... this not just delays a dieoff, they actually live and feed and stay fresh and fat.

I usually seal with air in it But I find out stairfom food container works even better
