Know you made a vid, but any advice for ppl who have heavy flakes on washing. Have starter locks for a month and get Re-twist next week, but the flake build up is embarrassing at this point, feels like picking scabs
@TPlocks4 жыл бұрын
With dandruff it’s all determined by the products you use, your diet/ water intake, hair/scalp dryness and even genetics. Once I identified that my dandruff wasn’t a dietary issue. I made sure to use tea tree oil products as much as possible to actively combat the buildup and promote scalp health. That’s been my approach. My daily oil has peppermint and tea tree oil in it and my shampoo also has tea tree! By actively combatting the dandruff with tea tree oil, not only does it limit my dandruff, but it also proactively improves the health of your scalp as a whole. I’d try that approach and double back if tea tree oil hasn’t helped at all!

I’ve got starter locks but also do jiujitsu twice a week and don’t want to retwist that often, should I let them unravel and do spot retwists?

how can I limit the amount of dandruff that comes from my scalp without washing my hair?
@TPlocks4 жыл бұрын
Onika the peppermint/ tea tree oil from the video does help with that! Of course this wouldn’t be a recommended long term solution. If you’re prone to excessive dandruff I would try first adjusting a few things in your diet to help identify the cause. Definitely wanna make sure you’re getting enough water! If it’s not a dietary thing I’d start by adding tea tree oil to your regiment more consistently. I used tea tree shampoo and the oils to actively combat that dandruff. (Links in bio) If you’re not seeing much relief with products you’ll definitely want to seek a dermatologist and get to the root cause of it.
@lorenzosoyizwaphi57924 жыл бұрын

So I started my locs right before quarantine. I went with the instant Loc method, it’s been about 5-6 months I’ve been working out more avidly and am always worried about ruining mine due to over washing. Ya boy sweat sweats 😂 Is it bad to wash them after each work out? Or should I try to space my washes out? Also watched a couple vids and and instantly subscribed! Learning more and more! It’s been a wild journey so thanks for your Insight.
@TPlocks4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend washes after each time unless your hairs able to sustain the look and feel you want. Several lockers I know in the islands wash daily with zero issues. After working out I’d recommend using products that will help give a lil relief and gently cleanse! I’ve actually made a video about this now I think about it! 😅

Yo TP I locking my hair and am working construction and ride bikes, how do I work with a hard hat and ride my motorcycle with a helmet
@TPlocks4 жыл бұрын
If you need something really thin to place on your head under the helmet I’d recommend those little wave caps. They kind of look like stocking material, sometimes you can get them in thicker satin like material as well! That should give you enough compression to keep your hair from doing too much moving. Of course you can also use a durag if that’s not enough compression or coverage.

The problem I’ve been having is that my hair keeps standing up at football practice. I’m only one month in with the two strand twist method so that might be why. Should I just let it happen or should I wear hats to help keep it down?A lot more sweat gets in my hair though.
@TPlocks4 жыл бұрын
I would always use a shirt sleeve as a headband to help my hair lay down! Those little pantyhose looking weave caps help too! If you need that heavy duty you can definitely try the durag under the helmet!
