It might just be me, but I love the way the raw drums sounded compared to the mixed final product. There’s something about it that sounds really old school like what you could hear on a lot of old school 90’s Metal mixes.

Love the vids, Wyatt! I saw your video on trying a Trick pedal instead of the Speed Cobras and actually did the exact same switch! Thanks for the recommendation because I love the new pedals. I noticed you have the Cobras set up here and was wondering if you have specifications for using the two? Trick for faster songs? Cobras just for this try out video? I mean im not against having the 3 mics for the kick setup but i found i can get a really good sound with the beta 52a by itself mounted a good length into the kick hole and aimed off center.

How do you get rid of beater bounce? I've always had this issue with my slave pedal whenever I don't completely deaden the kick drum with muffling. I do have a porthole and I have a low to medium spring tension.

That pillow killed half or more of the tone of the bass drum...EQPads are way better than a bed pillow....You're using the speaker/woofer mic to fill in and compensate for what you took out with that pillow...All you need is one bass drum mic on the hole to get a "monstrous" kick drum sound
