I often wonder if could do a similar move with a sweep roll, if get some height off the top of the wave

Do you mean tucking in forward and flipping of the peak and brining the boat around by reaching back for the peak? Or more tucking to the side and getting up on the other side? Both version sort of exist! First one you need big speed tho! Literally something that would launch you off that wave. Second one is kind of like downriver helix, looks really cool but needs both speed and big wave there!

@@kayakingunlocked I think I mean on the peak, tuck forward, as if setting up for sweep roll, flip over and come up other side, so almost a sweep roll whilst airborne. In a half slice not playboat.

@@stuartreedsadventures Would you go forward or backward initially? Tho that seems very doable and a bit similar to what you do in downriver helix

As you are taking that key stroke to pivot over, you are using the non-power side of the paddle blade, correct?

In final version, yes. But in learning process practicing with power side is easier
