I find that a high quality vacuum with HEPA filter used regularly around every crack and seam is a very affective start above all, Then go over everything again with a decent steamer to penetrate deep and help get rid of any living remains, Steam can also replace nearly any chemical for cleaning and can help remove stains and wrinkles safely

They can still be bedbugs. I thought I'd eliminated them for the cause of my bites at night(checked all obvious places) found nothing. Finally, 2 decided it'd be safe to stay in the bed, pulled it apart and found em. Thinking they're living in the cracks between the carpet and molding and that's where they typically return. @BedbugSupply7 жыл бұрын
Water boils at 212 degrees and cools very quickly when removed from the heat source. If you splash boiled water around, it'll likely be below 180 degrees by the time it hits the surface. That means it's not guaranteed to kill bed bugs on contact, let alone kill any hiding beyond the surface of the materials you splashed. Not a very effective method.

If you see you see one, you have many of those little fuckers. He may of had bed bugs on his clothes when he came to your house, then hopped off when reaching your room.
@nymeria72398 жыл бұрын
If he sat on your furniture, and then you (obviously not knowing he had brought little unfriends with him!) sat after him, then the bugs probably hitched a ride on you right into your bedroom. You are going to have to find a tactful way to let him know that he has infected you, because think of what is happening with other people he has been going to visit. If you and he know the same people, but you don't have him over anymore, but you still invite over people that he has been going to visit, then they could bring the bugs to your home too. And then, what if you go to visit someone that your friend has been visiting, and you pick up bugs that he has taken over there, and bring them back home? Unless you alert this friend and your other friends about these bugs, your only other option is to cut off your circle of friends, because if they are not made aware of the problem, you will all be swapping these bugs back and forth like trading cards. Wishing you the best of luck!

Laura Lopez no problem. Since the bed bug problem we ended up moving from our apartment. We got rid of our bed as bad as it sounds, my mother wasn't willing to dedicate herself to fixing it. We washed all our clothing and packed it in plastic bags. We also washed all our bedsheets over, and soaked our beds. We didn't take much, only beds and clothes (moving with someone else) and since then we haven't seen any. I wish not to ever because I do think my mom would not care enough about the problem to spend money in it, and I'd be forced to live with bed bugs. That's just how my mother is.

How about diatomaceous earth ? thanks
@BedbugSupply7 жыл бұрын
Diatomaceous earth certainly does kill bed bugs, and is part of our recommended treatment solution. However, it kills very slowly and is only effective in certain areas, so it's not something you'd want to use on its own.

What if we put are clothes I'm microwave does that work too like fot 30.secs?
@BedbugSupply5 жыл бұрын
Considering bed bugs are likely hiding elsewhere besides your clothes, we don't think it's worth risking fire or damage to your clothes just to kill a few bed bugs. Those bugs can be killed in safer ways that also apply to stuff that you can't microwave.

Just found out that we possibly have bed bugs in our apartment!! So not happy about any of this, but looking for some cheap effective ways to kill them right away, and going to be washing everything tomorrow with HOT water. This is so not what i wanted to deal with!!!

Hi, Kelly. Don't waste your time with hot water - there's no evidence to suggest that will help you at all. Give our team a call.

what do you do when you don't have legs on the bed frame that the Box touch the floor like a captain bed
@BedbugSupply7 жыл бұрын
Many people have worked around this issue by purchasing wooden blocks or moulding pieces from a hardware store and fitting those under the corners of the frame to act as makeshift feet. Then those feet can go into the ClimbUps.

Lol, the hair dryer method seems promising, how hard do I have to hit them with it?! Nonetheless great information, I feel better knowing that the spray agents are safer than what people usually say, thumbs up.

I was just telling my son out of all the years I've been in this world I've never heard of a bed bug up until the last few years. however they got here in this world witch I think is by man but they are real and a pain in the ass. if heat kills them then why not steam treat your belongings in the home then turn your heat up to max for a few days that should work right?
@BedbugSupply7 жыл бұрын
Homes are rarely insulated well enough to let every crack and crevice hit 120 degrees. That's also very dangerous, risking electrical shorts, fires, or carbon gas exposure.

it's 120 degrees not 180
@BedbugSupply8 жыл бұрын
120 degrees will kill bed bugs in a short time, but not instantly. It needs to be 180 degrees or more to ensure an instant kill.

No, and using bug bombs can actually make the infestation harder to treat. Definitely skip those for your bed bug treatment.

Having carpet is the worst fucking thing.
@BedbugSupply5 жыл бұрын
Having carpet doesn't change a bed bug treatment by much, if anything. Bed bugs aren't able to bite or dig their way under any type of flooring, so your floor treatment is still going to be focused along the edges, where the wall meets the floor.

You could treat personal belongings with a portable bed bug heater, like a ZappBug. There's definitely some cost involved, but they're 100% effective at killing any bed bugs inside.

what about a steamer that at the same time throws out the chemicals needed to kill the bed bugs?
@BedbugSupply7 жыл бұрын
I don't believe such a product exists. In theory, the steam would immediately strip the insecticide from the treated surface.
