The soap coats the exoskeleton...in which they breath...it automatically suffocats them.. best do it at night when they are all in the nest.

No, it doesn’t take a couple of hours. Dawn Ultra kills them within 2 - 3 SECONDS.

@@SilverCymbal I'm deathly afraid of all bugs especially anything that will sting you or chase you. And I have at least 3 nests in hard to reach, high traffic areas where my kids, nieces, & nephews play on a daily basis. 2 of which I can't see the nest so I'm trying to do some research to kill them myself. I've been hesitating for a while now lol. I think your technique might just work

This totally explains why I got zero wasps last summer around our house. I did a soft touch DIY house cleaning with pool bleach and Dawn detergent, then a water rinsing (which we know is never a full rinse), using a power washer and that exact spray bottle on the entire house in March 20. For the entire summer bug season last year, I had zero wasps or any other bug for that matter. We didn't know whether it was the bleach or the soap..and I guess it was the soap that kept them away!

I had a yellow-jacket nest in a wooden beam in a raised flowerbed and got stung a couple times while mowing the lawn so I put some dish detergent in a water gun, added some water, and sat next to the entrance and started spraying them one by one as they went in and out. Seems like they didn't really understand what was going on and who the threat was since they weren't coming out en-masse looking for something to attack. But any wasp that got hit with the soapy water was dead in a matter of seconds. After killing about a hundred of them, they just stopped coming so I guess that was either the whole colony or they abandonned it.

Did this yesterday. had no idea there were that many hornets going in and out of such a small hole in my porch. They would land on the soapy wall and then fall into the pile of soap bubbles on the ground as soon as they had touched the wall. There were so many, I thought they were crawling out of the soap and trying to get back in. When the soap foam died down, the ground was littered with 50-60 hornets under the foam. Nobody tried to attack me as I was 12 ft away. The hornets were concerned with getting into the nest and later, they were concerned with all the dead hornets everywhere. While they were looking at the other dead hornets....bzzzzzt, they were dead too! Used Dawn and water in my foam cannon.

i had a huge hornet's nest inside my shed i also used pressure washer with the foam blaster and soap and water but i set the blaster to more foam less water and my blaster shoots foam in a fan like spread and the foam is so thick it sticks to the nest and i poked the nest and blasted the inside as well. all dead in 15 minutes

Great idea. I have web/worms in my pecan trees and have been trying to figure out what to get rid of them with since they are so high up. My pressure washer has a feed tub for liquid cleaner to add with the water. Im just wonder if it will hurt to run a specticide, through my washer. Recon if I clean it with water afterwards it would work. My washer has to high of psi for the snow wand. Thanks for the video. It gave me a great idea.

Thats good, looks as though that did the trick, but a question, what about the leaves on that tree?? It stripped the bees' life away, but whats to say that in the next few weeks the oil might be stripped off of the leaves?? Ortho puts this stuff out for poison ivy and this stuff does just that, the leaves in about a week start to change color, it also gets the roots as well. Understood that this product that you're using isn't as strong, but would there be damage done to the tree???

My tree suffered no issue at all, no die off, or problems. Soaps and oil are often used on trees. But maybe your tree is sensitive, I cant say for sure but I have used this many times as a simple treatment that only seems to et the hornets

This method doesn't work. You're wasting water while waiting for results (if any). The wasp spray works a treat and you only need to use a bit of it.

I wouldn't say instant. I have used it. Either way you are killing them. Bees=don't touch them Yellow Jackets/Hornets=they can go away fast or slow and in this case I would rather no spray petroleum all over my yard,
