Um, in the movies the storm troopers look dead but it was explain multiple times that when you shoot a storm trooper it does not die instantly the armor protects them from plasma shots the only problem is that when the armor absorbs the shot it puts the trooper in a coma but is easily fix if you put them 30 minutes in a bacta tank and they will be fine. (I know i have bad grammar) Oh and another thing the elite mandalorian stormtroopers (seen in starwars rebels) has armor that could protect them from light sabers

A piece of armor doesn't have to necessarily save the user from every damage that he may take. It must be cheap light and allow movement for better flexibility in the battlefield. So the stormtroopers armor is indeed good enough for an army that big. And please stop that thing about stormtroopers having a very bad aim. Everyone points out that they couldn't hit Han solo, Luke etc. That's because they were ordered to capture them alive.

The plastoid in the armorplates shock the troopers when they are shot, knocking them out and then they can recover quickly in a bacta bath, blasters can't kill them, its just without the right equipment you can't revive them, which is why the rebellion thought they were dead

Charlie Poulter I don't think it works like that. Yes their armor disperses the energy of the shot. But if you hit them with a rock it would not disperse the rock, Only energy blasts. So if you shot a stormtroopers once and he went down, then he's not dead, hit him 2-3 times then maybe. But I think the rocks just knock them out. If the stormtrooper armor did disperse blunt hits, Ewoks would have to throw the rock so hard it was always 100% killed a humans. Otherwise it makes no sense that a rock would hit them and they'd fain, I think they'd just feel a tingle

Actually when you shoot a storm trooper usually they don't die the hit will nock them out but the armour is plastdoid one of the strongest meterials in the galaxy the troopers are able to get back up and keep fighting right after the shot. Also ewacks are stronger then wookies and are easily able to chuck a rock with enough force to KILL a storm trooper or any other target in range.

I think most of the stormtroopers were just knocked unconscious on endor and captured later and let free when the war concluded. Those rocks and arrows didn't kill them but at the most gave them concussions. Not to mention Ewoks for some reason are in lore said to be super strong but not absurdly strong. Plus the lack of coordination and morale kinda lost them the battle. As far as blasters the rebels mostly often use modified blasters to penetrate stormtrooper armor. When Chirut was holding that one stormtrooper in place that trooper was soaking up a ton of E11 blasterfire from his own trooper and seemed fine through almost all of it and was standing and moving through most of it. So only modded blasters from the rebellion and bounty hunters could probably do that much damage. Idk how to explain the ones getting shot on the deathstar in 4 though. Maybe they played dead because the plan was to trail their ship back to the rebel base.

This guy gets so much wrong...first off, most of those shots probably AREN’T kills...hey likely pass out immediately due to shock in most cases, as their armor does deflect shots as much as it lessens the impact. Only direct shots in the correct places will completely go through the armor. Secondly, bow-casters are extremely powerful, and not very common. Of course that poor stormtrooper didn’t stand a chance! Lastly, Finn SHOULD NEVER have been able to handle a lightsaber that well. And he’s a pathetic excuse for a character.

Armor is generally less effective against blunt force trauma than it is against "piercing" weapons. Armor can stop or deflect a sharp, pointy attack. A person can survive a single shot from a .357 magnum to a Kevlar vest (granted, I can say from experience, it HURTS). That said, a swung sledgehammer can actually hurt way worse due to transference of force. Basically: sledgehammer hits armor, force goes from sledgehammer to armor, armor impacts your chest, force goes from armor to chest. Queue a few broken ribs AT BEST.

Much like the Persian Empire's immortals, Sidious wanted to keep his infantry count high for mass fear and control, not necessarily usefulness. As for the blunt weapons, Not much can be helped to prevent concussion or pacification via big rock to the head. Chirrut's staff has been used in the form of a Bo staff, an IRL martial arts weapon. Lastly, I just wanted to mention that the capes are armorweave, which gives them greater purpose and, in Darth Vader's case, extra badassery.

Chirrut's weapon (I'm not totally sure what it's called technically) seems like a quarterstaff to me. Armor doesn't actually do much against a quarterstaff in the hands of someone who knows how to use it; I've seen a video of some guys putting a helmet on a watermelon and striking it with a staff.
