Wonderful video, I enjoy how you explain why you do certain things instead of just saying it

Thanks Ally, it's great to know that my tutorial style is helpful 👌

Excellent tips. Thank you for the walk through. I usually just swatch back and forth even if I plant to knit in the round but I can see why it would be even better to swatch the way I plan to knit.

i feel like flat swatches are kind of pretty and satisfying but swatches in the round are so unruly and messy lol. i’ll have to learn to love them😆🤗💖

Hi Anushka, jope all is well with you. Loved this Swatch done on circular needles. The only ither time I'd ever seen this before is in a Sock Knitting Book, but had never actually seen it live. Thankyou so much for showing how this can be done. Especially for the would be Sock Knitters. Happy Knitting. Take care & stay safe. Lots of love Jen xxxx

Hi! Would you do a video on advice for people who have no time but keep on knitting? I have so much work and am getting little sleep every night but can't seem to stop my addiction to knitting... Would appreciate any help!

Thomas, that sounds like quite a situation! I'm afraid that I'm really not qualified to give any advice on this matter, as it would require looking at your present and past behaviour patterns and coping mechanisms. This would be best discussed with a mental health professional. Good luck!

Great swatch series! What are the different options, when following a pattern, but not following the recommended yarn and the tension comes out tighter? For the current pattern I am working on (a sweater), I have both used a bigger needle and moved up a size.

It sounds like you've got it covered! I will definitely go into adaptations in the next installment. Glad you're enjoying the series 😀

I never get the number of rows that the patterns asks for in its gauge or that the yarn label states. I can get the number of stitches per 10 cm, but never the number of rows. I get fewer rows per 10 cm than the pattern or the yarn label say, regardless of what needles I use. This is why I am afraid to follow a pattern, so I end up making up my own, which at least is a reward in itself, despite the desperate and numerous calculations to make sure I am getting what I want. Would you have any suggestions? I knit the Eastern European way, if that makes sense. Could it be this style of knitting that brings about a different gauge? I have not knitted with yarns from Eastern Europe to see whether I am getting gauge with those.

Does anyone know what that unique pattern the swatch in the round has where one "leg" of the V is much chunkier than the other leg, and makes it look almost like a line straight up and down? Why does that happen?
@TheCrimsonStitchery3 жыл бұрын
I think this is down to the type of ply of the actual yarn used
