I'm quite sure the term 'counter' clock-wise' should be used at the beginning. Thanks for using big yarn and needles!

thank you, I've been doing this wrong for years, bringing the new loop through the stitch not between the stitches!
@VivaLaVittoria Жыл бұрын
After you make the first knot/stitch, you say that that is a stitch... however there are two loops on the left needle at that point. My understanding when casting on is that the number of stitches is the number of loops- ie. if you are following a pattern and it says to cast on with a row of ten stitches, that means ten loops on the needle, not ten knots (which would result in 11 loops). Can you clarify please? :)

You move the new stitch into the left needle by entering it knitwise - other vids show it being captured pearlwise. Why do you prefer it this way? Knitting Newbie.

Hmm. In trying both - it doesn’t seem to make any difference to the result, and knitwise does feel like an easier transfer. :)

Any chance for a left-handed series? I can follow the basic tutorials, but as it gets more complicated they can be hard to follow for a lefty :)

Hey! Thanks so much for sharing you're thoughts with us. We will pass this onto the team :)

Hi I'm left handed and always come up against this. I would just reverse everything she does. As such instead of the right needle it's the left needle. However it would be great if there was a left handed video somewhere.

How do I do a two-strand cable cast on?
@SolangeLOLable2 жыл бұрын
Do you cut the yarn before using or leave in the ball? The instructions in the booklet are not super helpful

Thank you! I’ve watched a few other videos and the steps weren’t clear enough for me to follow. I finally got it!

Is it possible to pull the wool from the centre of the ball?
@wj989833 жыл бұрын
Yes, when you get that next ball of yarn, the loose end will be stuck into one side. But also check that side for a loose end that comes OUT of that hole instead of going around the ball.

Im a newbie in knitting and think casting with one needle and hand is easy and fast that this looping method.
@SorryIcantIhavebookclub4 жыл бұрын
True but with the thumb method you cast on with the tail and not the yarn so you need to know how long you are going to need before getting on
@Madonnalitta1Ай бұрын
This is a knitted cast on. It's not the same. For most things, what you're doing is fine, but certain patterns will ask you to specifically cast on with a knitted cast on.

Ok how do we do the second row???
@SorryIcantIhavebookclub4 жыл бұрын
Hi, this is not a row technically speaking but the cast on edge so the second one is your first row and depends on which pattern you are going to create.

Why so many tutorials for the same technique for right handed and non for left ??????

I learned myself to knit with both hands using the Backwards or Mirror technique! There are a few videos on KZbin. Hope that helps :)

I think you'll find that the majority of tutorials on here say to use the *_working yarn_* end to pull through the loop when you create the slip knot. Then you pull the working yarn end to tighten stitches. 🙄
