I have made a cowl in this stitch and I treat it as reversible because I equally like how both sides look! But I wish I had seen your superb tutorial before I made it though, it would have made things so much easier!

Thank-you! I am alternating double seed stitch rows with this garter slip stitch using a slightly thicker wool for the double seed stitch, using the Lion Brand Fisherman's brown yarn and the thinner Lion Brand undyed light Fisherman's Birch Tweed yarn in a cowel. The stiches are very similar looking and this stitch makes the thinner yarn the same thickness as the thicker yarn.

Lovely stitch, but in continental style, you did not knit the last stitch through the back loop on the first row. Is there a reason for that?

Thank you! Yep, I didn’t do it because it wasn’t the first row in my swatch, and I forgot. However, I work the last stitch always through the back loop on the first row, no matter if I’m knitting English or Continental 😉
