I am so glad you posted a tutorial! I have been so curious how you knit because you’re also a crocheter. I was taught how to knit very differently and it is SO inefficient especially when doing any kind of ribbing. I see knitting as necessary evil to get the type of fabric that I want for certain projects but I would rather crochet if I can. Two rows in and I’m already matching my old speed. This is going to be a game changer! Maybe I’ll actually start to like knitting more.

My mum taught me to knit with the thumb cast on and with the UK knitting style. Very grateful for that .- I was curious about this way but it will take a few watches to get it to sink in😂 I do prefer US crochet terms though.

Yes it does matter, it changes the direction that your stitch faces and then you can end up with twisted stitches

That's true if it says it on the needles then you can never have to take a sharpie and write it on. Sharpie wipes away on some surfaces
