I was also like that . i could confess salvation day after day whenever I could mess up.I was condemning myself after every failure but i thank God for this teaching. when you taught it live I completely confirmed my salvation. What got me was the scripture where Jesus says “if you love me, you’ll keep my commandments”. I have always loved Him, but I was backsliding really badly. I did not want to hurt Him with my sin, so I gave my life back to Him. Once I turned from my sin and gave my whole life and soul to Him, the Holy Spirit has completely changed me.

My church believes that you can lose your salvation and my husband has been trying to find ways to prove that once you're saved you're always saved and it's not in our works but trust in Jesus. Thank you Pastor for this vital answer.

@@iancue8185I agree with you. My pastors feel that if you sin one too many times, God will altogether reject you, and you lose your salvation. They use what happened to Pharoh’s heart. They also misquote, “God will not strive with man always.” At this point, we've stopped. We recognize they do not wish to hear differently. We stay because we happen to mentor some of the young adults.

@Nianderson1127 it is true God won't always strive, but that is after Jesus comes back then and God desires us always to repent because it based on his love and as we know his love doesn't have condition the truth of sin is if you continue you will harden your heart till you reject it and it hurt your ability to seek God because of shame and less to hear his voice

@@iancue8185 true and good point. I completely understand. Many years ago I engaged in some very harmful behavior. Trying to help my family but all I was doing was being disobedient to the Holy Spirit. The first couple of times I did what I did I could feel the conviction and literally the pain I was causing the Holy Spirit. But after a time, making excuses, the conviction became less and less until it stopped. Even with that knowledge I continued until I couldn’t anymore. When I had to stop I found it very hard to go to God for forgiveness and the enemy was all to glad to rub my face in it as well. My heart didn’t harden but I found it hard to understand and to act God’s forgiveness. It wasn’t until I ended up in my church that God broke my pride, that I laid everything down on that altar. It took 3 years for me to forgive myself. 3 years to finally let go of the accusations and to let the Holy Spirit heal me and restore me and remind me that I was still his. I’ve seen this in my husband as well and that a whole other story. Thank you for sharing and for a good conversation. (Ps forgive the poor grammar.)

There is no condemnation for those in Christ. That guilt is not the godly grief of conviction by the Holy Spirit but a lie of the devil. He is the accuser. Most Christians do not understand temptation. To sin we must first be tempted. With thought sins, doubt, lust, etc the devil lies and tells us we all ready sinned when we have the temptation so we give up. But it's only sinning if we follow our that thought to it's conclusion. Recognize that method the devil uses to push you from temptation into sin, and it will become powerless against you.

I'm having a battle with vaping. I've smoked for 25 years and switched to vaping and my vape has become like a security blanket thru stress and trials. I've gave my life to Jesus and I've surrendered to His will but I'm struggling with the stronghold of my vape. Please pray for me. I was told it would send me to hell and it terrifies me. I understand a bit of where you’re coming from I’ve struggled with doing a fast and it revealed to me that I may have been making food my idol or comfort. Try it bit by bit and pray each time you feel comfortable or uncomfortable decreasing, sometimes the challenge is what makes and reveals the strength in us right before we breakthrough (so I’ve been told by KZbinrs) but from my experience I wouldn’t suggest going cold turkey because you might relapse but if you believe in the power and strength of God He will deliver you from that in a day, you just have to believe and be strong and firm in that faith, BUT He may be calling you to take it one step at a time as long as you’re praying and talking to Him, you will win!

GOD is Great! I am watching this video at my work place!! before I come to work, I was asking myself, what if a Christian is doing evil things (sins) what is going to happen to them? are they going to perish? then does it mean that they can do whatever they want just because they're saved? God Bless You Br. David for another great Word from God on Salvation. I grew up in a very strict Southern Baptist home. Very religious. Yet I Praise God for my parents giving me a Christian foundation. I remember reading about The Gifts of The Holy Spirit, asking my parents why we do not study that and or why our Preacher doesn’t preach about The Holy Spirit? Never got a good answer. Now approx 6-7 yrs ago I’m Pentecostal and Glory to God I’ve been Baptized in The Holy Spirit. What a transformation.
