How do I use lights on a dslr/camera rig. A t9 would fit perfect on my rig/cage, but how do u use it when it’s on there. What are the perks off using a light mounted on my rig. I want one for ease of use, but how much quality will I lose to ease of use

I would really love to see a video with an exact rundown of how you light these talking head videos. I assume you’re using your own gear (because Aputure is the best!), so walk us through how you’ve lit your set. Practical demonstrations like that are always most helpful to me. Thanks for considering this request. You all are awesome!

Man, Aputure is pretty much the top boss when it comes to anything camera equipment related, especially lighting! This segments make the most intimidating topics seem elementary, lol! I learned a lot from this one! One topic I'd suggest would be a segment on matching colors and tones when recording on two different cameras and editing in post. I'm sure there's a method to make sure all the shots on different angles match up just right and aren't drastically different, therefore making it harder to edit in post! You can give the M9 to someone else who really needs it, I sincerely want this topic covered as my prize lol! All the best A-Team!

Love all your content, it's so nice to have these breakdowns. They are a lot like your lights, industry level but easy for a beginner to use. I'd love to see a video on what Aputure lights to use in different situations, or what specific situation each light was built for.

Important to note: cri reading is an average of all of the values. So a light could have an overall high 98 cri... But keep in mind all the colors could be (for example) 100, but 1 color value could be 40 which could only minimally impact the overall cri reading but have a major lack of a certain color. Just not properly indicted when the overall cri in an AVERAGE of all the color readings. Hence some lights that have a high cri could still have a major green or magenta shift.

It'd be interesting to hear about the theory and reality behind different types of LED lighting - say a standard LED panel light, like a LS, vs. an LED panel with phosphor panels, like an Area 48.

Nice, informative video! I would really like to see a video that shows the versatility of standard studio lights i.e standard bulb with softbox. How many different styles of lighting you can make (i.e with cinefoil, shutters), how to transform spaces with light, etc. I, and I'm sure many other subscribers, only have standard studio lights (and a few other small LEDs) and would love to see a video showing a variety of ways to use them (i.e change light into spotlight, different looks from gels, etc). Keep up the great content! :)

I know this is an old video but hopefully you see and respond. I’m looking into buying light and as a makeup artist capturing true color in picture and videos is important. I found a set of lights with a 530 LED, CRI 93 (a bit more budget friendly) and another with a 660 LED, CRI 97 (a bit more pricey) . Will there be a big difference that will show in pictures and videos or not enough and go for the budget friendly one. I’d love your suggestions as I’m not an expert 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hi there, I LOVE your videos! They are informative AND entertaining. I hope you guys never stop making these videos :). Great job! I'd really love to see some camera/lighting hacks. Like, if you cannot afford good lights, how can you get a good look with common light bulbs or LED light bulbs. How much Watt, which brand, which "lamp" in terms of portability and power. Is it possible to dim the light by using a cheap dimmer? Would be a huge help for a passionate, young filmmaker with an empty wallet 😅.

I had to use some Ikan lights recently that were just horrid to use along side a couple COB 120d lights (they were very purple in comparison). Make make a video on how to properly use filters/gels (if you have to) to fix other light panels to help them match Aputure's sexy tones.

hi there, does the W of the lights matter? like say 60w versus 150w. i've been using 150w as i was told to do so, but i never know why should i use 150w instead of 60w.

Omg thank you, I subscribed! I'm choosing between two LED lights. One has 96+ CRI with 660 LED bulbs and 2300 Lumens. The other has 93+ CRI with 528 LED bulbs and 2080 Lumens. Is this much of a difference between these two lights specs? And does the CRI between these two make a huge difference?

They're both useless for video/photo, but high scores look good on marketing material, so manufacturers still display their high scores prominently, knowing the vast majority of people aren't knowledgeable enough on the subject. The only measure that matters for video/photo is SSI. At least Apurture is one of the few manufacturers that list SSI scores for most of their lights. There are two SSI numbers, one for tungsten (anything over 80 is good), and daylight (anything over 75 is good)...

Is it true that an incandescent 60watt light bulb at 2700k has 100 CRI?
@neutronpcxt3725 жыл бұрын
Yes. However, the problem is dynamic range. It will be reproducing colors extremely well up to 2700k. It won't be reproducing blues and violets accurately in that CCT range.
