Hi Dawn. The gold filigree piece is a likely Filipino in origin. The style is called a tambourin and it's meant to resemble a rosary. The glass centre with the flower is a requilary on older versions and they have a more religious feel. Crosses and religious requlics. The later ones mid Victorian to the 30s are usually a flower. Seeing all the beads together as you have is rare as they are often broken up amoung families when they are inhereted. They are frequently either vermiel or 18kt gold.

@@HUDSONVINTAGE I have a piece myself but it only has the pendant and the big station beads strung with mother of pearl. That example is really beautiful! I love the depth and curation of your collection. I learn something from you in every video. You're doing a great job.

Wow, this opened my eyes as to the breadth and depth of Victorian and Victorian Revival jewelry. A lot of those necklaces and brooches you showed, I would not have known they were Victorian. Thanks for the lesson :)

I'm so glad I caught this video today! I have a small cameo on a book chain that's almost identical to the one you showed. I hadn't delved into researching it, and you saved me some work. Yes, I found it in a Shop Goodwill lot a while back, in addition to a 9k pendant covered in rose cut Bohemian garnets on a long, delicate chain. I knew something was likely missing from mine (fringe at the bottoms), but I still think it's beautiful. I wish I could post a pic here. I really like your sharing collections from others, though I'm sure we haven't scratched the surface of enjoying yours yet.

A while back I watched this video and I thought the fob ornament with symbols was so cool! Then a week ago I found one just like it here in sweden! 🙂 So Thank you so much for showing it so I knew what to look for! I love your videos! Is it late Victorian like turn of the century?

Hi lovely! #4, have you gotten any more information on the necklace? I’ve recently acquired the exact same one, she needs a cleaning but I’m so scared to mess with it. I’m just not sure wether to list it as is or try to clean it and I’m lost as to how to price it. Thank you! 6:37

Item number 4 is not actually Victorian. As another viewer commented, that’s a tamborin from the Philippines. The Philippines was a colony of Spain from the 1600-1800s and jewelry from that period was heavily influenced by Spanish culture. However, I think that piece is a reproduction as tamborins from the colonial period were strung on a sting and not linked together by the base metal. Revival/ repro pieces were common in the 70s and are still being made now in brass. Older pieces are often in vermeil or low karat gold, 8-10k. In rare cases you may find one made with 12-14k gold. There’s very little info on the net about them in detail, and books on antique Philippine jewelry are collectibles too.

I love the showcase idea! Wish I were home I would have gotten involved with this one! The cameo piece is lovely. I have never seen one with a snap. Really interesting! BTW the pig is a symbol of good fortune which is why he is on your bracelet. Which is adorable! Check out this link www.thehappylab.com.ph/latest-post/heirloom-pieces-tambourine-jewelry/
