Great video. Only thing I would add is that the setup is everything to get them tight. Good preturn as you enter makes it alot easier to hold speed through the ladder

The explanation on connecting the initiation to the sustained climb segment is really good! Practically there's a bridge point where it's quicker to just 'back into' the first gate after a bit of preturn, use the throttle and keep the side of the ladder you're trying to orbit around a third of the way in from the edge, then it becomes about throttle/pitch management once there's a consistent feel for what the turn radius is. I think that would be the next follow-on, and where the SIM is much more forgiving than trying to learn in the air
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
That's totally true! Sim is much more forgiving. Plus damn. Great explanation on your side 😱 love it

Also how is that move called when you have like 3 gates in line on the ground, and you go through all of them in a single corkscrew move but it's like 3 angled powerloops... might be cool to see a tutorial on that one.
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
In Europe we call it powerloops 🤔 as corkscrew js the gate and flag thingy I made a video about. I will be making powerloops video ☺️

Nice, another torture track... I mean TRAINING track :) what's the difference in playing in nemesis mode vs solo mode, I can see my times and other people times as well, and single mode doesn't makes me have all ghosts flying around
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
Oh you will start hating "the green guy" soon 😂 Yeah nemesis mode is so much fun and makes you push further and harder! I'm happy to make more torture tracks 😉
@olekdh3 жыл бұрын
@@MaiOnHigh For now it's more distracting than helping to have faster ghost times around, mostly because my laps are not consistent so I can't follow somebody else's line, and if I try to pick up speed I immediately shoot out of the track. the problem for me is still to get in the zone and stay focused
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
@@olekdh maybe some music helps? I have a couple of songs that get me into the mood right away and help me stay focused

5:15 when you're doing it in like 1 continuous move you have your camera like 45 degrees tilted on roll, interesting. If you've just overshooting, you normally hold the horizon. Just some observations...
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
Oh really? 🤔
@AntonKoba3 жыл бұрын
@@MaiOnHigh Yeah so if you overshoot, you normally try to straighten the horizon, before you throttle towards another gate. So to me it would be some kind of an indicator that I'm doing that single move properly - if I keep that angle and not straighten the horizon. Same for powerloops-corkscrew when you go sideways spiral

Very nice! I need to get on velocidrone and start some training. Been lazy af lately lol. Too cold and wet to fly outside this winter here in Louisiana. We usually have a lot of rain in the winter but this year has been redamndiculous, and going from 60 deg weather to 16 in 24 hours was kinda drastic last week lol. I love training ladders. I still suck at them but get better a little each time. Way better with them on my 3” racers than I am my 5”. Not sure why but it happens.

Yeah totally get velocodrone! We are in lockdown for 4 months here and it's getting insane 😐

@@MaiOnHigh oh I know how that is. But we haven’t been locked down totally since July where I’m at. But I did get burnt out on velocidrone last year lol. I must have been on it 10 hours a day for 3 or 4 months straight. Hah. But I am about to get back at it. 👍

Hi Lexi, pleasant tutorial. Was thinking ladder? 🤔 Ahh those gates stacked on each other like towers 🤣🤣🤣 👍 🤦🏻♂️ After I went through some of Mihn Chan vids, I thought, I‘m too old for these & after a few rounds it got dizzy & boring 🤦🏻♂️ I need something like a parcour track 🤔 I became a weird problem the other day, the image on my goggles are mirrored 🤦🏻♂️ from left to right, with a smaller cam up to down. I don’t even know how it happened, going crazy how to solve it 🤦🏻♂️ I‘ve tried the inverter in the OSD menu but didn’t do anything 🤦🏻♂️ 🤷🏻♂️ If you have any clues or ideas, is much appreciated. Many thnx & take care 🤓😉😘
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
I think I had it once with a runcam that had a setting to be mirrored. Up to down you can just rotate the cam on drone but left to right is usually a cam setting 🤔
@BornIIfly3 жыл бұрын
@@MaiOnHigh hi yeh I‘m using the RunCam nano racer 2. & yes in the OSD Menü for mirror/invert, that just makes the writing bold 🤦🏻♂️. Was thinking a CLI command? 🤔 If there was a way to adjust the image there? Thnx4Answering, have fun, fly safe & take care 🤓😉😘

@@BornIIfly I think you should message runcam support. As the fc has nothing to do with it so cli command wouldn't help 🤔

@@MaiOnHigh hi actually one way is to use the controller for the camera, the newer versions should be able to do this but 2 props, I don’t have such a controller & 2nd I destroyed the connection part on the camera 🤦🏻♂️ Will do, write to RunCam, try & give them a small depression 🤦🏻♂️ You don’t really love to fly 🤷🏻♂️ Not like I do 😉 Thnx for the replies, have fun & take care 🤓😉😘

Great video! Quick q - why do you prefer velocidrone to LiftOff?
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
I can build tracks 😂 and I am used to it more. I think liftoff is cool for freestyle, but for racing I do always use velocidrone. Plus a lot of online races are made there so it's my go-to sim
@qm21053 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video, Lexie! I want to ask about your settings. Do you tweak any of the sliders? Prop size, weight, etc.. I switched from velocidrone to liftoff because velocidrone has a strange “moon” gravity issue - the drone just hangs in the air on 0 throttle like a feather. I don’t see this problem with whoops mod, but 5”es are really crappy. I haven’t tried all off them, but really couldn’t find the one that flies like a normal drone. Liftoff feels much more realistic to me.
@MaiOnHigh3 жыл бұрын
hmmm... I am thinking on how to share my settings and stuff in a nice and easily accessible way. Maybe a separate video that would just be posted in between normal video time? I do have a lot of settings touched indeed
