What's your biggest problem you face when making bass sounds? Let me help!
@Pyroific5 жыл бұрын
trying to come up with different ways to make basses, I tend to use the same filters, and processing all the time and many of them sound similar

When playing around trying to come up with interesting baseline it starts to interfere with the drum beat. How to find the balance between originality and nice groove?
@Letsynthesize5 жыл бұрын
I like to resample it to audio and play with it in a sampler. It’s a lot easier to find groove for the bassline with this method.
@SwitchUpBroadcast5 жыл бұрын
Mixing it into the drums/ pads/ rest of the song! my bass sounds phat by itself, but besides EQing to fix masking, checking phase issues, sidechaining& arrangement when I try to mix the bass into the rest of the track it rarely "gels". like my layerd breaks and bass just don't fit well together, sounding disjointed.... also, bass "melody's" is a bit of a problem since I usually just go for 1 note bass, or E & F# , have no idea what scales or modes to use when writing basslines!

It would be nice if you do a comparative with the fx on and off. A lot pple doesn't realize, but most of the important things, comes from processing fxs. It really gives a huge difference on the final sound.
@Letsynthesize5 жыл бұрын
That's definietelly true, but as you may saw the postprocess on those sounds are very minimal, and I showed every important effect there.

Letsynthesize hmm not really sure if you can call Trash2 post process is minimal. I am not saying its bad, in my opinion post process is very important and sometimes you spend more time post processing/resampling to get the result.... so the chain with more than 6 effects, layering 3 different sounds cant be called minimal post process lol

Dan I can't find that "Hydra" Trash 2 preset, it's not in any of the expansion packs that came with trash, or the og presets, where do I get it? Great tut.
@Letsynthesize5 жыл бұрын
Yeh it was a factory preset, I modified it and saved it like "hydra". So unfortunatelly I can't tell you which one was the original.

Love your tutorials man, but there is so much missing from what you've actually shown. there is is a lot of automation missing, plus what's going on with the pitch. I copied the whole thing frame by frame, and although the tones sound pretty much the same it sounds nothing like the end result, and I literally copied everything
@Letsynthesize5 жыл бұрын
The point of this video is not designing those layers but showing how to use layer sounds to create a cool neuro bass. This is why I didn't spend any time on showing the actual presets and processes of them.
@SwitchUpBroadcast5 жыл бұрын
@@Letsynthesize ahh ok cool, that makes more sence... Well the sub and mid layers I have pretty much nailed, but myself and I think the majority of other producers will be struggling with the "character" layers. Would you do a video on how to make other types of this top character layer with FM8 and perhaps serum & what processing chains you might go about using on this character layer? that would be awsome
