Great video, like how you explained everything so well with actives. It can be very confusing as a newbie when you don't know. I like to put a drop or two of oil in a dollop of moisturizer in my palm, mix and then apply. It's easier for me this way to apply oils. 😊

Dry skin here too. I switch my routine as I cannot use tretinoin every night. Azelaic acid has helped my hyperpigmented areas which I just dab on the three spots. Weirdly I have used Victoria Principle's Argireline skincare for about 30 years. I'll change up but I go back to it always as it gives a very hydrated look. Waiting for a product to add with more peptides now, as well. Love an occasional ExfoliKate (Kate Somerville) cleanse too. Thank you about the copper peptides with Vit C as I use a serum C in the day. I have over done and paid the price occasionally as I am a sucker for trying new stuff. Right now I have a tinted Alastin Pro Mineral Sunscreen from the Plastic Surgeon I used last year. But I go back to my Elle MD one too.

Thank you for this! I was happy to hear you just use water in the morning to wash your face. I do the same. I'm 62 and have dry dry skin so sensitive to chemical sunscreens and really have to be so careful. I will peel around my mouth and on my chin if there's anything sneaky in there! I'm curious about using oil as your last step in the evening. Any brands you will recommend? tytyty oh, and what is a good exfoliator for dry skin? I've got those Dennis Gross pads and my eyes just water!! I try to use them every once in awhile yet I would like something really good for my skin type
@beyond50skin6 ай бұрын
Yep us sensitive skin types need to careful with over cleansing. I am so sorry I forgot to put my favorite facial oils in the description. I have added it and linked it here for you (shopmy.us/collections/public/445740) One of the best exfoliators for dry skin is lactic but you may be too sensitive. I recommend you start with Poly hydroxy acid. I have a mini-blog on my website that shows the best exfoliants for each skin type and gives some product recommendations. Here's the link to my Blogs: shopmy.us/beyond50skin/blog Thanks for watching and hope this helps. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions. 💜

Thank you so much for your videos and the research you do. I have a question regarding LED devices, I am using the Maysama Panel and the Green Rooibos Serum. Is there another serum that can be used with the panel in place of the Green Rooibos? Particularly interested in using Drmtlgy products. Also, I use the Ziip Halo and feel a lot of current around my jawline. Could the reason be...I have metal fillings in a few of my molars, it actually scares me to use it in that area because of a few good jolts. 😮 Thanks Cindy!!!
@beyond50skin6 ай бұрын
You are so welcome. I am glad you are enjoying my content. The Maysama serum has the most studies to support it's use along w/ LED. I am not aware of a DRMTLGY serum recommended for use with LED. I do think I remember Dr. Sam Ellis (founder of Prequel) saying she does her skincare and then LED. I don't because of the potential reduction of LED benefits and scattering of the LED light. Love my ZIIP as well and I also am most sensitive around the jawline. Maybe switch to a NANOcurrent only routine for around the jaw area? Perhaps that will be less jolting.

My Facialist told me not to put anything over retinol or retinoid (serums or moisturizer). She is really good, but that didn’t make sense to me. Do you need to maybe just wait a few minutes in between layers.
@beyond50skin6 ай бұрын
Actually, there are several ways you can usel your retinoids. You can place then with nothing over or under as your facialist mentioned. Some find retinoids a bit irritating and put a moisturizing serum or moisturizer on before to buffer retinoids … and you can add moisturizer after your retinoid (the sandwich method). As you mentioned, I recommend letting each layer dry down a bit between applying the next. Layering before and or after can help especially if someone finds retinoids a bit irritating. There is a point made by some that putting any skincare before (esp on damp skin) may increase the penetration of your retinoids causing more irritation. In theory this is possible which is why putting a bit of time between layers is a reasonable idea. It may take a bit of trial and error. The key is to prevent any irritation. Hope this helps 💜

@@beyond50skin Hi! How long do you recommend letting serums (Copper Peptides/Vitamin C/Retinol) “dry down“ before applying the next product? Thank you for taking the time to make your videos!
@beyond50skin6 ай бұрын
@@101Catarina There are very few products I let completely dry down. I typically leave 20- 30 seconds between layers. Exceptions… Retinoids: I let any skin care before I apply my retinoid products dry down to decrease sensitivity. Timing depends on how long it takes to dry down. (Remember letting a product dry down can decrease sensitivity of active ingredients) Maysam Roobois serum: The recommended timing for dry down is 20 minutes prior to your LED session. I do my best to reach the 20 minutes. I’m not perfect every time. Those are really the only two products that actually consciously put time in between. Hope this helps. If you have a specific question on a specific product during ingredient, let me know 💜
@101Catarina6 ай бұрын
@@beyond50skin Thank you for such a thorough response. 🙏 I had no idea that typical Dry Down Time is 20 minutes! That’s very good information to have. Thank you for specifying that you follow this rule when applying products BEFORE Retinoids. That’s something of which I will now be mindful. How long do you wait AFTER applying Retinoids before applying moisturizer?
@beyond50skin6 ай бұрын
@@101Catarina you’re welcome. Yes, the Maysama green Rooibos tea serum is a bit of an exception. After I apply my retinoids, I just let it dry to the touch before I apply moisturizers and facial oil.

Very informative, thank you. I’m guilty of using vitamin C with needleless serum, which has copper peptides. Maybe I should split it up. I’ve read that you can mix it then some saying don’t. I don’t know but again thank you for your content. I do want to incorporate chemical exfoliants just can’t decide which to choose. I have very dry and can be sensitive at times skin. I was looking into the minimalist PHA toner. Penn Smith recommended it and it’s so affordable.
@beyond50skin6 ай бұрын
Hi Thanks for your GREAT QUESTION. My understanding (however the research is scant) is that the copper peptides in The NS (Copper Lysinate/Prolinate) is ok to mix with Vit C. as long as you're not experiencing irritation. However here is the statement from DRMTLGY's website. *"DRMTLGY recommends using their Vitamin C E + F serum in the morning and their Needle-less Serum in the evening"* PHA is a great exfoliant for very sensitive skin. You might also consider the Inky Lists PHA go.shopmy.us/p-4596480 ( also very affordable and on sale if you're a Sephora shopper) For another quick guide to acids you can see my mini blog: shopmy.us/beyond50skin/blog Thanks again for watching and for your great questions. There are always nuances with skincare LOL.

@@beyond50skin Hi yes Iv’e noticed the Inky list one as well. I currently use a micro dermabrasion scrub from DRMTLGY and I love it. @beyond50skin6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. I plan to continue reviewing skincare devices and in-office treatments on occasion. I use home skincare devices for maintenance in between office treatments. The skin aging process doesn't stop and home devices can be a big help in your mature skincare routine. I’ve been very transparent about the fact that home skincare devices can only do so much. I also feel it’s very important for those of us on social media to be transparent about the in-office treatments we’ve done. I hope you do not feel I have been misleading in any way. I've done videos on all the treatments I've done and share pros and cons. To be honest my skin wouldn’t look as it does without the office treatments. Some people are fortunate and the subtle improvements from home devices alone, over time offer just enough. If you’ve seen my before pictures prior to cosmetic aesthetic treatments you’ll notice my genetic lottery (deep wrinkles, volume loss post menopause, dry, loose skin with little turgor was very aging) plus years of unprotected sun exposure required the big guns. I hope that clarifies my position and my reasons for sharing at home skincare devices. Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate your feedback💜 If you’re not already watching @agingnaturallywithjodylynn & @skinobssedmary, you will love them. They just did a collab on this exact topic. 😊
