The center line saves a lot of time. I use one when laying out Lacrosse fields as well.

We use tape and metal pins to mark the outer perimeter. Then we tie a long spool of string to the pins in such a way that it'll stay tight but a single pull will undo the knot from the pin when finished. We have a roller for applying the paint using the string as a guide to keep the lines straight and square. Our measuring tape has a metric side as well as a feet side because we normally use metric in Ireland now, which we measure the perimeter with. But, because the circle, penalty and 6 yard areas etc. are in whole yards (as opposed to metres with decimal places), we flip the tape over to feet for measuring out the lines for those. I pointed out to my colleague (who's a member of the club I work at) when I first lined a pitch with him that we never put down markings for the penalty spots. He joked "we don't give away penalties at this club". Lol!

We don't paint too many soccer (football/futbol fields) here at the high school level anymore. Most schools have artificial turf fields that are permanently lined. Now we paint more American grass football fields than anything. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!!!

How many cans of paint did this take?

8-10 cans on initial layout. 4-6 cans to repaint. Depends on speed of walking and length of the turf.

How many tape measures and cans did you use? How much string do you recommend?
@CREENBIRDVideos4 жыл бұрын
I use two 400 foot tapes and two 300 foot tapes. Approximately 8-10 cans for the first lining. Repainting usually takes 4-6 cans depending on how faded it is. Easier to keep it fresh. Enough string to stretch a piece the length of the field. 360 feet. And another piece to go across the field. 210 feet.

@CREENBIRDVideos9 ай бұрын
I use 4 big screwdrivers that fit through the end of the tape measures. I use an additional 4 or 5 screwdrivers for marking the boxes. Bright colors are great so you can see them when making straight lines and not losing them. Having them fit in your pocket is beneficial so you don’t have to walk back to the truck or cart when you need one.

Can I Make Small Line With White Colour in Football Ground
@CREENBIRDVideos6 ай бұрын
@@Tripurasa1994 if you hold the paint stick closer to the ground when painting it will be narrower. Pioneer also makes an aerosol painter that has four wheels and can be used to paint a smaller line.

Or you can buy a paint machine for a more professional result. The video uses the aerosol method, which is fast and cheaper than buying a full on machine. You can always go over the aerosol layout with a machine later.

How do you make sure corners line up?

When you square up in the beginning. When you measure equal at each end after squaring up it stays the same.

@@CREENBIRDVideos I guess what I am saying is that how can you make sure that say North Corner A is going to be inline with South Corner A?
@CREENBIRDVideos2 жыл бұрын
As long as your first corner is 100% square, everything else should stay square as long as your tape measures are straight and your measurements are equal. Keeping the tapes straight is key.
@allancorrea5136 Жыл бұрын
I believe you can also square up the field using 6, 8 and 10

My team member and I can do a full soccer field in less than an hour using this method on a field that is sufficient in size and properly mowed. I have done this exact field by myself from scratch in less than an hour and a half. In my defense, I'm getting older and I'm a little bit slower, but I've been painting fields this way for 20+ years. Thanks for watching my video and commenting.
