This video is from earlier on in their journey, but I believe it's the last time I remembered to film with them. This is how I teach a horse to lead by their (front) hooves. On the second day, I introduce the hind feet. This is also how I prep them to pick their hooves up and get them used to touch and pressure around their legs. This can be great to prep a horse for many situations!

They were both really calm for this being their first time! The close ups at the end was so cute! Nora has such a sweet face.

This training is really easy to understand for the horse, they know what you want from them. Good pressure and release. That is fair training:)

They both did great! And of course you as well otherwise they would not;-) So aggravated with YT. No notification on this one either. I don't know anything about their payment methods/protocols but is part of it that you have to have so many views within a certain timeframe to be paid? My notifications are coming five or six days later, and after going to your channel, I see many are not at all. (Now I have things to catch up on.) I will have to make a daily check of the channel rather than relying on them for notifications. Have fun and be safe out there!

Hey! No I don’t think it really matters when people watch the video… It’s so odd though, so many people are saying they aren’t getting notifications. It is nice to have a little extra from KZbin, but that’s not my main source of income luckily and I honestly just enjoy creating the videos and interacting with everyone so the views don’t matter tooooo much for me 😁❤️

Hi Sam. This was great thank you. Would you recommend the same method for the hind legs? Or how would you approach that?
@SamVanFleet
@SamVanFleet 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I think I touch on how I would start to do the hind legs in this video. I usually do the first session with just the front, and then I moved to the hind legs. More likely than not, I make a loop and have them step into it to initially get the rope around the leg

@@SamVanFleet thank you so much. I'll go back and rewatch. I've been meaning to message you and ask for a video of training a horse to accept water. Most training I've found just chases the horse around with a hose but I'd really like to see your approach 🙏 keep up the great and inspiring work

Can someone explain to me pls what training to lead with feet mean? Like i feel dumb for adding but the overall picture or goal of it is what? For being able to pick up feet to clean hooves later or for trick training to get them to step on something? Or is there a diff reason? I’m into horses and stuff but haven’t been able to be around them much.. and i learn training thru videos but this is new to me

Is this something that should be done with a horse who shies away at pressure whenever it's applied? He's also a bit off with his front feet sometimes.

This is a great technique to help a horse learn to give to pressure in other ways aide from leading/halter pressure
